"I Hope It's Me"
(1809 | 110119)The world quickly changed before the eyes of a child,
Who once was innocent now looked at the world as red.
A hand on its shoulder, it whispered
"I hope it was me..."It looks up at the sky,
Wistful... staring at the slow moving, nonexistent, stars...
"Hope you were..?"
'What did you hope you were?' held back by the tongue"I hope it was me who was the liar." It mumbled to itself
Tears dropped
One...then two...
Then another... until it was a waterfall"Why?" I stared
Keeping my hands on its shoulders, I felt it tremble
The child...
"Because then they'd no longer need to fight."'Who are "they"??'
But the child left as I thought to myself
I whispered back at it
"I hope it was me too..."I looked at my hands
Falling sands
"I hope I was controlling it all..."
