"Steps/ Broken Glass"
(1838 | 110119)

I danced wildly to my own beat
Ignoring the music that played
Inside my head I was inside the stage once more
I was under the sea of million eyes

I ignored the sharp pain
The trickling liquid
The pool that had formed beneath my feet
As I twirled and leaped

I dropped to the floor exhausted
Out of sadness
The memory has to end
Like every chapter in a story

I felt the glass in my arms
Digging itself under my feet
But that pain has been long numb
I lay beneath my own pool

The cuts I receive are just reminders to me
My stage is over
And my exhaustion to everything was only tolling on me now
It was only another day to survive

I walk away from my reflection
Leaving my trail once again
Waiting to see if they'd actually find me the next day
I threw the ballet shoes across the messed up room

"Till we meet again..."
