"Third floor, third floor.", Arya mumbled to herself as she struggled to drag her luggage up through the narrow staircase of her hostel. The college was enormous, you could get lost inside the campus. It took her about an hour or so to locate her hostel and then find her room.
"78! Ah, Finally!", she opened the blue door to a small yellow painted room. Two beds on the either side of a window etched onto the wall opposite of the entry door. She looked at the left bed, which quite evidently had been occupied by someone. The quilt was hastily laid over the bed, and the pillow still had an evident bump. A charger was plugged into the socket, located beneath the window.
Arya lazily dragged her luggage to the bedside and had it land on the bed with a thud. Just as she was about to straighten her spine on the bed somebody burst into the room.
"Roommate! Hi! I'm Deeksha, 2nd Year, Mech. What about you?", asked the girl named Deeksha with a wide smile on her face, her face twitching with that wide grin plastered on her face.
"Arya Rajput, 1st Year, CS. Nice to meet you.", uttered Arya with fake enthusiasm so as to not offend a senior. She was far too tired to smile, let alone have a conversation with an overenthusiastic student.
"C.S.Damn smart Freshie! Come I'll show you the campus.", before Arya could respond Deeksha grabbed her elbow and jerked her off from the bed. With practically dragging her feet through the floor, Arya stepped out of her room. Deeksha jumped from one stair to the next, enthusiastically blabbering about the campus and the college. Arya politely nodded in response to every statement made by her as she struggled to keep up with the hopping Deeksha.
They were near the tea shop when someone caught Arya's eyes. On all the tables and chairs laid out near the shop, sat a man with a heavy stubble adorning his face. With chestnut fox eyes assessing his cup, to the arched eyebrows that twitched with every sip he took, everything about him was perfect.
"That's Samir, the most popular boy in our year, well practically the entire college. He's a C.S. student as well, very smart too."
"He's handsome."
"Don't even think about it!"
"About what?"
"About him."
"Why? Is he a-"
"A douchebag? Yes. Big one at that! Every girl around is after him look-", Deeksha pointed to the tables surrounding his, there seated girls, sipping enthusiastically on their soft drinks as they looked at him slyly but Samir was unbothered. He definitely was used to the attention.
"But-"
"You're different and he'll like you? Well most think so. There are so many others who want a girlfriend here, but sadly most of them have had books closer to their faces than any girl's lips.", Arya giggled at Deeksha's statement.
"Come! Let's introduce you to our college's famed tea."
"Lets proceed.", Deeksha held out her hand gesturing for Arya to move towards to the shop.
Deeksha ordered two tea cups and within a few seconds, two steaming cups of tea were handed over to the girls. Both blew carefully over the cups as steam steadily rose from the top. Arya sipped on the tea and looked at the table where Samir was seated, he was getting up with his friends when his eyes met with hers. Her cheeks turned to a light shade of pink and she smiled. Samir gave her a confused and digusted look, something which indicated him saying -'Stop staring you weirdo'. With one jerk his head turned to not face her and he was off with his friends. Arya mentally scolded herself for smiling like a creep at him.
"I said don't."
"But-"
"EHhh! That's what he is gonna say when you try to talk to him."
"Okay."
