Ship: Blackinnon
This is based on an idea I saw on Pinterest, but once again I took it a bit further....
Marlene sighed as she looked around the Great Hall. Pink and red decorations covered the walls making her nauseous. The decorations weren't the only thing making her nauseous though. She was trying to eat and all she saw were smitten couples practically sitting on each other's laps. Her boyfriend hadn't even shown up for breakfast yet!
Marlene didn't know what to expect in a relationship. She was very much a no strings attached kind of girl, but Sirius Black changed her view of things. As she saw the girls receiving red roses and chocolates from their boyfriends she couldn't help, but be disappointed. She poked around her plate before decided she couldn't take it anymore and exited the Great Hall. On her way out of the Great Hall, she bumped into the one and only Sirius Black.
"Woah, Woah, hey there you okay?" She smiled at her boyfriend. He was the only person she could picture herself with in the future, so even though she was disappointed by not getting any gifts, she beamed at the sight of him.
"Yeah, the Great Hall was just a bit overwhelming." Sirius kissed her cheek and sighed, slinging his arm around her in the process.
"I want you to meet me in the common room at midnight, okay?" Marlene arched an eyebrow at him.
"Mhmm. What should I wear?" Sirius looked at his first girlfriend. The first time he could commit to someone without the fear of them leaving was her. Whenever he was having a bad day she knew exactly what would cheer him up. His fellow beater on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Pajamas." She smiled lightly at what she could tell was a scheme he had cooked up. She pecked him on the lips.
"Okay I'll see you in Transfig, I promised Lily I would meet her in the dorms before Charms."
...
"Can you repeat that for me one last time?" Marlene rolled her eyes exasperatedly at her friend. Then she repeated what she had said for the third time in Charms.
"Sirius wants me to meet him in the common room at midnight in my pajamas." Lily smiled widely at her friend.
"I think he's planned something fantastic!"
"So I should go?" Lily arched an eyebrow at her friend.
"Is that even a question? Yes!"
"Okay, okay."
...
"What if it's a prank or something Lils?" Marlene asked her as she was being shoved out the door.
"Just go! And don't forget to have fun!" Lily called to Marlene as she slumped down the stairs. She saw an outline of a person in the dim common room, only lit by the diminishing fire. She shivered as the cold February air bit her skin. The figure turned out to be Sirius as he turned around when she made her way to him.
"You look beautiful as always." Marlene bit her lip and giggled, looping her arm through his. "So we both are new to the whole relationship thing, but we make it work. We aren't perfect as everyone has their flaws, so I thought we could do Valentine's Day Sirius Black style." Marlene raised her eyebrows and yawned slightly. "Oh and thank you for the new Exploding Snap game, Prongs and I blew up the other one accidentally." Marlene chuckled at him. Typical Sirius.
"Well, try not to blow up the new one." She shivered and Sirius took notice of this.
"Here take my jacket." Marlene slid on Sirius's iconic leather jacket. It was a bit big on the sleeves, but it did its job. "Walking is taking too long." In one swift motion, Sirius pulled Marlene into his arms, bridal style, and began sprinting down the corridor with her in his arms. She took notice as each painting was either scolding or laughing at their antics. "Alrighty, we're here." Marlene dropped down from Sirius's arms smoothly and noticed that they were at the entrance to the Kitchens.
...
Marlene spent the next two hours laughing on her ass at the stories Sirius told with a pint of ice cream in her hand. She wondered why she was so bummed out earlier when she didn't receive a traditional gift like every other girl in the school. Traditional was not how you described Sirius Black. When she instead received a nonconventional Valentine's Day she was more than happy. Sirius was hers. And she was Sirius's. Nothing more could matter.
