with gritted teeth, he slams the door behind him. the eight boys lounging around the living room jump in surprise. they share the same raised look of confusion.
"hyunjin, everything alright ?"
he completely ignores the concern directed towards him, walks straight into the hall, and confines himself in his room.
the whipping palpitations of his heart and the sudden struggle to breathe was no match for the fire that burned his iris's.
the frantic boy's friends trail after him, trying to get past the locked door.despite the many question's his friends bombard him with, he chose to stay silent.
and so, they have no other choice than to call reinforcement: a short strawberry blonde.hyunjin stands in front of the wall, with fists clenched and a tucked lip.
"dont cry." he tells himself.
what was the use of it anyway. even if the tears that pampered his cheeks only made the swelling in his throat worse, he still wasn't going to open the door despite the obnoxious knocking.
he sits himself up, staring at absolutely nothing, thinking of absolutely nothing.
hyunjin doesn't even bother to take notice of the clicks at the door.he doesn't even bother to see who had came in. but that visitor was a cutely freckled girl who was on the verge of shattering everything in her sight.
this was exactly what she had feared, and she was certainly enraged, but she had pulled herself together for the sake of hyunjin.
she tucks away the bobby pin-that she had used to skillfully pick the lock- into her scarlet purse and carefully approaches him with her hands behind her back.
"jinnie?"
hyunjin turns away and lies on his side. haerin stands in front of him and gently places both of her hands at the sides of his face.
his tears are wiped away with her
gentle touch."she doesn't deserve them"
haerin knew him far too well. her small hands cup the sides of his flushed cheeks.
she warmly smiles as she lifts his head with a single finger so their eyes meet."can you tell me what happened?"
there's a momentary silence.
"she's leaving."
hyunjin pushes himself off the bed and walks towards the window to watch the light rain that pitter-patters the streets.
he looks out towards those empty streets illuminated by the dimly lit light posts."and why is that?"
there was a long silence after haerin had asked. she was almost certain he'd leave things like that, in suspense.
"i have no clue."
the couple's arguments had always consisted of lack of time they were able to spend together, the dead weight bleu claimed to be, etc.
"i warned you about her, hwang."
perhaps it wasn't the right thing to say, but haerin had enough of keeping her mouth shut. she believed it was high time she voiced her thoughts.
haerin had never liked that girl. she was a trainwreck and only worsened hyun jin's state of mind.
hyunjin had too many responsibilities and ambitions on his plate. with a single snap of a camera or insider into their kept relationship, was probable cause for an end of it all for him.
haerin scowls as she reaches into her purse and takes out a pretty pink envelope.
"i love her, rina"
hyunjin rests his head against the window pane with crossed arms. He appreciates haerin's efforts towards comforting him, but she just wouldn't understand his true affairs of the heart.
haerin pushes herself off the bed and quietly walks toward the closet, and tucks the letter into the pocket of a black sweater.
it's her fifth letter, yet hyunjin remains oblivious as ever.and oblivious of the many burdens that consume bleu.
"i know you do."
hyunjin wipes the remaining tears with the sleeves of his hoodie, he ruffles his hair with a single hand and turns around to put on a smile for haerin.
he'll put on a show, just like bleu did. hwang hyunjin hadn't believed a single sharp word bleu tried to wound him with.
he knew her far too well. but maybe just not enough. it wasn't enough to understand her irrational behavior."i shouldn't burden you with my relationship"
the strawberry blonde frowns, she opens her arms and waits for Hyunjin to pick up on the hint. and he does.
"you could never be a burden to me hyunjin,"
haerin buries her face into his chest and softly smiles. she's thankful he can't see her rose tinted cheeks, for the kiss he placed onto the top of her head was the sole reason.
"i'll always love you."
