Chapter 5 Tabanya?

(Harvest POV)

As we walked through the portal to Tabanya we arrived in a city with fantasy and complex buildings, shops, restaurants etc. but instead of people, monsters filled the streets, Lamias, Orcs, Nekos, Hellhounds, Arachne, Ghosts, Imps, Banshees, Slimes, beastman and much more in different colors but all in human shapes from skinny to overweight and from men to woman or they, thems.

I looked over at (Y/N) and saw her eyes wide and her mouth wide open and in turn I softly chuckled at her.

When I laughed she quickly returned to her regular face expression and cleared her throat, " Sorry about that Harvest." She apologized, which I found a bit confusing but didn't choose to question it.

"It's alright." I gave her a closed eyed smile. She nodded.

(Y/N POV)

In all honesty I was slightly embarrassed that I showed him my shocked face.

"This is Tabanya. And this is the Great Light Tree." He turned around to show a tree exactly like the one from Modshio, I nodded.

He started walking through the street in front of us that had buildings tall and short on both sides of us.

As we walked he pointed out a few of the buildings like the hospitals, schools, restaurants, park and a few others.

We finally arrived at a grey building with large windows that had the sign Modshio. "This is our base of operations in Tabanya." Harvest walked forward as I followed swiftly behind.

He opened the door and I was instantly greeted to a beige room with a wooden front desk and a man behind it who had black hair, horns and ears similar to a bull along with a nose ring. He was intimidating and looked like he could crush my head with his hand but I didn't falter as I continued to follow Harvest up to the front desk whilst passing a few other monster girls and guys.

"Hello Bubba!" Harvest greeted him cheerfully only to be met with a huff. Harvest chuckled at this and pointed to me, "This is (Y/N)." I nodded, "It's a pleasure to meet you..." He glared coldly at me, "Bunachikke." I silently gulped as Harvest looked between me and him.

"Ah Ah Ah!" He exclaimed as he stood in between us, "It's not what you think Bubba! She hasn't been mean to me or anything like that. Honest!" He looked over at Bubba with pleading eyes.

Bubba raised his brow at me and huffed once more as he hummed and went back to working at the desk, "Rani is waiting for you." He didn't take his eyes off the papers in front of him, "Okay, thank you Bubba!" Harvest walked to the right of the desk -with me following- to a door.  He grabbed out a key from his pocket and unlocked the door and walked in.

-/- Short Timeskip -/-

We arrived at a grey door and Harvest went in first as I followed in a few seconds later from a confused look received by Harvest.

I cursed in my mind to my habit of waiting for permission to enter a room.

'Wait habit...? Wait...now that I think about it I can't seem to remember why that's a habit-'

My thoughts are cut short to the voice of a man, "Hello there Harvest and if I am assuming correctly, (Y/F/N) -(Your full name)?" I nod and look over at Harvest slightly confused.

Harvest quietly giggles and turns back to face the stranger.

The man had two stone shoulder pads with a brick like pattern with a dark sand texture along with various other stone parts around his body as it floated around him which in all honesty was kind of weird... but he finished off the look with a black suit and blue tie.

Next to him was a woman in a black suit and red tie. She had hands or- well claws like an eagle and brown fur sticking out of parts of her suit and large .... feet? Paws? I- whatever. She had wings popping out of the back of her body/suit with different shades of brown feathers that ended with pure white on the top of the wings. White bangs and brown hair tied up in a high ponytail.

She stared at me with a cold glare that if looks could kill, I would have been gone the moment I walked in the room.

Harvest cleared his throat sensing the obvious tension that was starting to build, "Hello again Rani!" Harvest smiled and continued, "So (Y/N)" He turned and looked at me as I nodded at him, "This is Rani the, well, mayor. And his trusty bodyguard Louis!" I nod at them and almost bow but quickly fix my posture and clear my throat, "Apologies - ah .... " I just shake my head and give them a nervous smile.

'Why did I do that?? It felt so natural yet .... out of place??' Rani smiles back softly as Louis's hard glare stays the same.

"Well (Y/N) I hope you will enjoy your position as representative and will do a wonderful job in the future. As of now though I am going to let you explore Tabanya and hopefully make some great friends along the way. If you haven't heard you will be staying here in a home I have provided for you."

I nod and slightly smile back. I've never been good with compliments and gifts and things like that, "Thank you very much Rani."

I bow to both of them as Rani just chuckles and says there is no need. Louis just lowly growls and gets scolded slightly by her boss.

'Such a cute pair.'

(Sorry for not updating in a while since with the virus and real life things I've lost motivation for this story but I will tell you that my motivation has come back into what I feel I want to do with this series so I just ask of you who read this to stick with me and trust me that I will not leave this series discontinued and might instead just be slow updating. Thanks again for this support and for a certain someone's comment who really made me happy :) Thanks again and sorry for this being super long)
