(Outfit for this chapter
Skylar's POV
I sat on the floor of Eric's basement in front of the couch, in between Eric's legs. Kelso and his latest girlfriend Jackie Burkhart sat on the other side of the couch. We were watching The Brady Bunch.
"Wow Marsha" Eric said impersonating one of the Brady's. We had seen it tons of times so we watched with the audio off and did impressions. "A football to the face, that's gotta hurt."
"Ouch!" I said dramatically holding my hands to my face. "My nose!"
"That's gonna be huge in the morning" he said.
"Huger than my boobs?" I asked.
"Well bigger than the left one" he retorted. I laughed.
"Why are we watching this without the sound?" Jackie asked. "I am totally confused."
I don't like Jackie. She's younger than us and a bit of a snob. She also treats Kelso like some dumb dog. Granted Kelso isn't Einstein or anyone near that level of intelligence, but he's way smarter than people give him credit for and he's super sweet when he isn't an asshole.
"Here" Eric said. "Use the earphone." He picked up an earbud from the coffee table and handed it to Jackie. I leaned on my head on Eric's knee.
"So, what's the deal on the Vista Cruiser?" Kelso asked.
"The deal is, there is no deal yet" Eric said.
Jackie shushed them.
"How are we gonna get to the concert?" Kelso asked.
"Shh" I said, turning around and placing my hand on Eric thigh. "Shut up."
"What concert?" Jackie asked and I shoved my head into Eric's leg. I felt him rub my back. He knows I don't like Jackie and the last thing I wanted was for her to invite herself to come to the concert with us.
"Uhh" Kelso laughed. "Ted Rungrin."
"When?" Jackie asked.
"This weekend" Kelso stated. Eric and I looked at each other and sighed.
"Oh" Jackie said. "Who's going?"
"Uhh" Kelso said and shifted. I got up and sat in the lawn chair that was set up next to the couch. Eric frowned at me. "Eric and Skylar, Hyde and Donna, and me and the foreign kid Fes. Pretty much everybody." Jackie widened her eyes and nodded. "And you."
"Oh good!" Jackie said, patting Kelso's thigh. "Good, good, good. Thank you for telling me Michael!"
"Kelso, you're so weak" I said, shaking my head.
"Yeah, man" Eric said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jackie asked.
"Hey Eric, I'm thirsty" I said, abandoning ship. "Wanna get a soda with me?"
"Absolutely, I'm quite parched myself" he said. We both got up to leave. Kelso tried to follow but I pushed him onto the couch.
"Sit down" I said, then followed Eric up the stairs.
Eric and I got up the stairs.
"So how long do you think it will take for her to outsmart him?" I asked.
"Oh uhhh" Eric said and looked at his watch. "About 10 more seconds."
We both laughed.
"I'm really excited about the concert" I said.
"Me too" Eric said. "Hey Sky"
"Yeah?" I said.
"I really like spending time with you" he said. "I like it a lot."
"So do I" I smiled.
"So maybe we could uh-" he was cut off by a yelp downstairs.
We ran down the stairs and saw Kelso on top of Jackie on the couch.
"Jackie" Eric said. "So I guess you're going to the concert with us."
Kelso threw Jackie off the couch and she yelped.
"Yep" she said, recovering from her quick movement to a standing position. "I can't wait. So Michael, you wanna go back to my house and listen to Ted Rungin records?"
Nice cover Jackie.
"Yeah sure" he said.
They ran up the stairs.
"You kids have fun" Eric shouted and waved. I wrapped my arm around his back. "Bye!"
We sat down on the stairs.
"Bye bye now" I said. "Those kids are so darn cute but when you turn your back they go at it like dogs."
"Ooh they're frisky" Eric said. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Can't leave them alone" I said.
"No" Eric said, rubbing my shoulder. "Ya know, my sister thinks that we shouldn't be left alone."
"Well we're alone now" I said nudging him.
"Well" he swallowed. "Yeah."
"Eric relax" I chuckled. "We've lived next door to each other our whole lives. You could've had me when I was four."
"Really?" he asked. "And yet all day, there I was on the hippity hop. Stupid, stupid, stupid."
He let go of me and banged his head on the pipe he was sitting next to.
"Oh stop" I said and I shoved his face away. He did the same to me and it turned into a wrestling match. We ended up on the floor, me pining him. "I gotchya again. Ya know sometimes I think to let me when just to be a gentlemen and then I remember that I win all the time so that theory is bogus."
He flipped me over.
"For your information little lady" he said. "I do let you win all the time because it's hot."
We laid there, him on top of me, starring into each other's eyes.
"Ya know" I swallowed and my voice shook. "It uh, it wouldn't be completely out of the question for uh, for Laurie to think that we shouldn't be left alone together." He looked from my eyes to my lips.
"What makes you say that?" he asked.
"Well" I started. "You're an attractive young man and I'm a decent looking young woman and uh, well we have this uh, this chemistry between us and um, such a chemistry can lead to deeper things than friendship."
"You're more than decent looking" he said. "You're absolutely beautiful."
He leaned his head down closer to mine, the space between our lips getting smaller and smaller.
"ERIC!" We nearly jumped out of our skin when he heard Red call from upstairs. "Get up here and sweep the garage before dinner."
"You should go" I sighed.
"Yeah" he said, sadly. He got to his feet and helped me up.
"See ya later, Forman" I said, leaving through the side door.
"See ya Pinciotti" he said.
