Gilbert POV:

I dropped my bag and ran for her, I couldn't have cared less about anything else's except making sure she was safe, I ran but I knew I wouldn't catch her, she was to far away. Suddenly a power surged through me and I caught her, we were inches off the ground and I had to slide on the grass to reach her but it didn't matter to me. I caught her, and after some banter we went out separate ways, who knew I could run that fast? I certainly didn't but I couldn't help but smile, she was blushing when I caught her, she was embarrassed. I know! Anne! Embarrassed! It was a sight to see I'll tell you that and my smile just grew wider.

When I got home Bash was feeding baby Delly at the table "wittle Delly Welly must be tired!" He said as the baby yawned " time for bed-y boopy isn't it babbbby?" He cooed and set her down in her room, when he came out he jumped when he saw me.

"Good Lord Blythe! Almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Sorry about that Bash," I said placing down the bag of apples on a nearby counter top.

"So who's the lucky girl?" Bash said smiling

"Wha-?" I said taken aback

"No no, don't tell me! It's Anne isn't it? Oh of course it is!"

"How did you-?"

"PLEASSE Blythe don't play this game with me!" Bash said in an exasperated tone "you make it SO obvious it's honestly painful to watch, especially since you haven't figured it out yet!"

"Figured what out?" I said confused

"Here we go again! You know what? This was always Mary's...thing...so you need to find someone else to help you out with all that stuff" his words slowed as he mentioned Mary's name, I hadn't cried about it...I hadn't really cried about my father besides that one time either when I was with Anne. I had to be strong for Bash and Delphine. Bash was hurting bad and my father wouldn't want me to mourn him for as long as I have, but Anne made it hard.

I could trust her, share my feelings with her.

On the really bad days, sometimes I just wanted to run to her at Green Gables and just cry into her arms, that's how easy it was around her.

But I hadn't.

And I won't.

I snapped out of my daze when Sebastian started putting on his hat, "I'm going to feed the livestock Gilbert, I'll be back soon."

"Wait!" I called after him "You still haven't told me what I need to figure out!" But he was already gone and out the door. I sighed and took the apples out of the bag, washing them and peeling them. I'll bake some mini apple pies, it will take my mind off things.
