He flew back and sat on the window ledge. "All I can tell you is that I was your father's bird."

"What do you mean 'all I can tell you'?" I growled. It always angered me when someone is holding something that concerns me and this situation did. "Either you tell me more or I won't be your master."

"Your father's last words to me while he laid dying was to find you and try to make you accept me to be my master." he stated. I gasped when he said 'your father's last words' and 'laid dying'. That angered me more.

"That's a lie!" I yelled. "My father's not dead. I've always believed that he was alive and out there searching for me."

"I saw him get himself slaughtered before your mother gave you up!" he spat. Now my head was spinning like a top. Who was I supposed to believe? A Mithos Raven or my head?

While I was deciding on what to believe, I heard a jingle of keys unlocking the door. It opened and there stood Asher with a pair of clothes. "Get dressed, twerp or I'll make that scar longer." He threw me them as he left. The door slammed shut and locked while I stood there, sending all the worst curses to that horrid man. I might've not known much about him but he was already getting on my last nerve. I looked at the outfit and I didn't like it.

The shirt was dark blue and was like the one that the princes wore in the stories that Aira read to me when I was little. Way too fancy, I thought. I soon got an idea and began tearing the gold rope off and the buttons. I tore off the long sleeves to make them short sleeved. I saw a dark blue cape in the corner and decided to use it. I dug into my drawer to find a needle, black thread, and a knife. I found the needle and thread but no knife so I decided to use my dagger that was still in my boot.

I got to work while the raven watched me from afar. I was almost done and all I needed to do was the cape. I cut off the hood and attached it to the shirt. I didn't sew it on since there might be a time where I will be running and it might slow me down by catching on something.

I placed it on my bed and started taking off my vest and undershirt. I put on the other shirt and it felt like I was free. I put the cape over my head since I sown the ends -that were suppose to be tied- together. I looked in the mirror and admired my handiwork. The raven flew to my shoulder and was impressed as I was.

"You did a good job for so little time." he said. I laughed a little. Hey, this bird isn't so bad, I thought. If he was my father's bird, I might as well be his master.

"Hey, do you have a name?" I asked.

"Sarngika," he said. "Bird of service. What's your name? Or should I just call you master?"

"Master's too formal. You can call me Arak." I said.

"As in the guardian of Akaenia?" he asked. I nodded. I remember that a few years ago that I asked Medina why Aira called me Arak since she was spending time with Kan. She said it was because she's always wanted to name a son to honor the guardian eagle Arakian or Arak, for short.

I looked at myself in the mirror once more but the outfit seemed incomplete. I decided to make bracers from my vest. I cut out the shape and added padding in between the two strips that I cut out. I then began to sew them together with three thinner strip that will make the bracer in place on my arm. I next started on the second one and when I was done, I slipped them on and looked in the mirror. "I seriously feel like I'm playing dress up," I moaned. "But at least, this is better than the one that moron of a man gave me."

As if on cue, I heard the door unlocking and opened and there stepped in Asher. He looked confused with his thin mustache sagging with his frown. "What happened to the shirt that I handed to you?" he asked.
