After getting Mr. Afton's approval for the job, Michael had explained everything to you. You and him will both have to switch between the day shift and night shift every week.

"You better get used to a screwed up sleeping schedule." You remember him telling you.

Yeah, like I don't already have one..

You took a deep breath. Today was your first day on the job and for the day shift. You reached for the uniform in your closet. It was a simple, technician-type outfit. You were hoping to get some sort of action on your first day.

"Have fun today, sweetheart!" Your mom said, as you walked out of the door to see Michael picking you up. You giggled, opening the door and climbing inside his car.

"Michael, you know I can drive, right?" You said. He chuckled.

"Yeah, well, I'm making sure you just don't get lost on your first day or anything." He said, driving away to whoever's house had planned a party for the day. He stopped in the driveway of a medium sized house. The technicians were already dragging out the Circus Baby animatronic and Funtime Freddy animatronic.

You had asked if there was anything to help with, but all the guys were saying no. You sighed, crossing your arms and leaning against the wall of the room they were setting up the animatronics in.

"Hey, what's wrong?" You felt some elbow you lightly. It was Michael.

"Eh, nothing much. I don't really have anything to do right now." You said, gesturing to the men doing all of the heavy work.

"Aw, I'm sorry, Y/N. It's your first day, and nobody wants to overwork you, that's all." He said, reassuring you.

"You're right. I'll just watch and learn for now." You said.

"That's the spirit! You'll do great, Y/N. I know it." He said, smiling and going to help out. You watched as Michael did bits of technical work. He was good, and knew what he was doing. You also stared at his concentrated face.  He stuck his tongue out slightly as he concentrated, which you just found to be adorable.

Y/N, what are you even saying?

He did have some nice hair, though. You'd kill for some curly, brown locks like that. And his eyes..holy crap. They were a dark, deep kind of blue. All of his features complemented each other nicely.

God, Y/N! Quit observing his face and focus on what he's actually doing.

You observed, trying to understand how these robots, way ahead of their time, worked compared to the average animatronic.

During the actual party, things were going pretty well. The two animatronics that had been rented out were working just fine. You really had no clue how they worked so smoothly, let alone be able to even walk. You'd step back a little each time you thought Circus Baby was heading toward you, only to abruptly turn and head over to some other children. Also the fact that she was probably 2 feet taller than you. You and Michael would occasionally sneak over to the table and get some free food, considering you couldn't exactly get a lunch break for this. You and Michael leaned up against the wall, talking, until suddenly, you were interrupted by a little boy, probably no older than 5 or 6, running up to you and holding your leg tight, seeming to hide from someone.

"Hey, kid. What's the matter?" You asked. Tears rolled down his cheek, as he wiped them up.

"Freddy tried to eat me." He said, sobbing and seeming scared to death. You raised an eyebrow, looking up to see Funtime Freddy interacting with the kids just fine.

"Hey, kiddo. Don't worry!" You said, ruffling his hair. You put your hand on his shoulder, pointing to Funtime Freddy.

"See, he just wants to play with you and your friends. Freddy would never hurt you." You said, smiling at him, although he seemed to still remain scared and hesitant to go back. You sighed.

"If you want, I'll go back over there with you, and we can play with him together!" You said, squatting down and talking to him. He hesitated, and nodded.

"Okay.." He said, quietly. You stood up, letting him hold your hand as you walked over there. Michael watched you, seeing how well you were with kids. He smiled to himself, knowing you'd be good at this job.

"Who's the bi-irthday boy?!" You heard come out of the voice box of the animatronic bear.

A bit glitchy and creepy, but I'm sure the kids won't care.

The kids jumped excitedly, pointing to the birthday boy, who wore a cute little party hat with a 7 on it. Cute. Freddy walked over to him, his footsteps obviously heavy from how big he was. He looked down at the boy.

"Happy birthday!" He said, as his hand puppet waved its arms up and down. You looked down at the scared little boy standing right next to you.

"See? Freddy just wants friends." You said, trying to be reassuring. As the kids cheered in excitement, you noticed the Freddy staring directly at you. You stared back, feeling uncomfortable, even though he's just a robot. What was only a few seconds of staring seemed to feel like minutes. He jerked his head in another direction, going back to his normal state.

"Freddy looked at me funny too when he was about to eat me." The little boy told you, holding your leg and looking nervous. You grew even more uneasy after he said that.

"Look, I can promise you that Freddy would never eat you! All he wants to eat is some yummy birthday cake." You said, smiling at him. He giggled slightly. Suddenly, the adults called for the kids to come watch open presents and eat cake. You were just hoping this party was almost over.

"Thank you for being so nice, miss." He said, smiling and walking away with the other children. You stood there, smiling and crossing your arms. You jumped and turned your head when you felt a hand on your shoulder.

"Calm down, Y/N. It's just me." Michael said, laughing. You laughed.

"Whoops, sorry." You said, smiling.

"Say, you seem to be pretty good with children." He said, looking down at you.

"Really? Never thought I'd hear that." You said. He laughed.

"Well, it's true. You handled that little boy's situation quite nicely. Most of the workers just sit outside and smoke a cigarette. They don't like dealing with kids." He said. The two of you had then began some random conversations as the party came to an end.

After a tiring day, it finally did end. The animatronics were set on the rollers. You felt strange as you and Michael helped out with Funtime Freddy. You felt like he was staring at you. As you all set him on the roller, you looked up, seeing his eyes staring directly into yours. You jumped, stepping back and moving away.

Good. His eyes aren't moving in my direction.

"Y/N, are you alright?" Michael asked you.

"Y-Yeah. I looked up and Freddy was looking at me. It just startled me, that's all." You said, laughing slightly. He smiled, shaking his head.

"Let's get you home, Y/N." He said. The two of you left, as he drove you back home.
