You woke up, your mouth feeling slightly dry. You had just had a strange dream, but couldn't even remember it now. You got up, deciding you needed a glass of water from waking up so abruptly. You walked into the kitchen, being as quiet as you could. The TV was still on in the living room, but you couldn't see whether Michael was awake or not. You looked through the cabinets, not sure where the glasses were. Michael turned around, seeing you struggling in the kitchen. He smirked, getting up quietly and sneaking behind you.

As you looked around, Michael grabbed your sides, making you jump and yell slightly. He burst into laughter.

"Michael, you almost gave me a heart attack!" You said, holding your hand against your chest. He laughed.

"Sorry about that, dear. I just had to." He said, smiling. You blushed slightly from the nickname.

"Where are the glasses at? I need some water." You said.

"Oh, let me get one for you." He said, reaching the cabinet above you and brushing against you slightly to get to it. You blushed again, scooting over and letting him get you water.

"I bet I woke you up, huh?" He said, laughing slightly.

"I was already pretty awake from a nightmare, but yeah you somehow managed to wake me up even more." You said. He handed you a glass of water.

"A nightmare? What about?" He asked. You shrugged, drinking your water.

"I honestly can't remember now." You said.

"Well, uh..I'm currently watching The Immortal and The Restless. Do you want to watch it with me?" He asked.

"The hell is that?" You asked.

"Only the best animated drama you'll ever watch." He said, smirking and crossing his arms. You sighed.

"I guess." You said. He got excited, grabbing your hand and walking you to the couch. You blushed, looking down at your hand holding his. He sat down, you sitting down next to him, but slightly distanced.

"It's about to come back on. I made popcorn." He said, giggling. He was acting just like a child, but it was adorable. The show came on, and you leaned back. He sat the popcorn in between you and him. You two would occasionally touch hands as you tried to grab popcorn, but you both tried to pretend it didn't happen. Before you knew it, your lack of sleep was catching up on you, causing your eyes to slightly shut every now and then. That, of course, led you to fall asleep on the couch. Michael looked over at you, asleep. He facepalmed, as he had probably been talking to himself for the past 10 minutes. The end of the season finally ended, and he held his head in frustration.

"That's it?!" He said to himself, quickly regretting being loud after remembering you were asleep. He sighed, and he grabbed a blanket to put over you. He smiled, sitting back down and reclining back on the couch to fall asleep. He grabbed a blanket, placing it over himself. He looked over at you sleeping. He brushed hair out of your face and behind your ear to admire your face for a moment.

"Goodnight, Y/N." He said quietly, closing his eyes.

A few hours later, Michael woke up to a thud.

Don't tell me it's him.

He got up, panicking. He threw the blanket on top of you, making you unseen. He turned on the TV, sitting back down to act casual. The door opened.

"I see you're up, Michael." William said. Michael turned around, faking a smile.

"O-Oh yeah. Hi, dad." He said. William walked over to him, Michael slightly panicking that he'll notice you under the blanket.

"So, how was the night shift? Did you and that Y/N girl make it alright?" William asked.

"Oh, yeah! It was quite easy, actually. Not as bad as I imagined it would be." He said, rambling on.

The heat from the two blankets over you and the sudden change of volume woke you up. You heard two people talking. It sounded like Michael and his father.

Michael probably covered me up for a reason.. I better wait until the coast is clear.

"I'm glad it's easy. But, it won't be like that much longer, Michael. It's only going to get harder. With all of the parties going on, you and your little friend are going to be stuck there for hours on end trying to fix those animatronics. They can hardly ever go a day without breaking down." William said. Michael sighed.

"You can't ever be too prideful, Michael. If you keep the same mindset that everything will be easy, you'll end up dead, just like your brother and sister." He said, bluntly. Michael held his head, trying to fight back tears.

"They're not dead just because of the animatronics, Michael. They're also dead because of you. Your pride and ego killed your brother. You couldn't even be there in time to help Elizabeth either.." He said, getting angrier with each word.

"If you hadn't built those damn things in the first place-" Michael said, raising his voice, stopping himself, and sighing. He'd rather not have any physical confrontations with his father. Especially with you here.

"I-I'm sorry, father. I'll do my best." He said. William sighed, going to his room.

You heard him leave the room, as you quietly took the blankets off of you. Michael flinched.

"Y-Y/N? How long have you been awake?" He asked you quietly, trying to wipe the small tears formed in his eyes. You sighed.

"Long enough to hear what just happened. I'm so sorry, Mike." You said, wrapping your arms around his neck. His eyes widened. He hesitated, wrapping his arms around your waist to hug you back. Tears formed in his eyes again, but he held himself back.

"It's okay. Thank you, Y/N." He whispered. You let go, laying your head on his shoulder, causing him to blush slightly. He hesitantly wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

"If you ever want someone to talk about stuff with, just let me know. I'll be here for you." You said, staring blankly at the TV screen. He looked down at you, smiling.

"I will."
