AN: Hey guys. I'm doing Perzoe. I want to do that Zoë still joins the hunt, but still loves Perseus and only Perseus. He hasn't told her that he is immortal, so they can fall in love during Titan's Curse. I want this because Perseus will send her away, as he thinks she shouldn't be in war. If you guys want Zoë not to join, or something else, let me know.
Recap:
Perseus looked at her, before asking, "Would you like to go to the sea with me tonight? I mean just to like, take a break?"
Zoë was confused and shocked. She couldn't speak for a few moments, before she choked out, "Why?"
Perseus smiled. "Well, I want a break, and I feel like being in this tent all day is a little bit boring, don't you think?"
Zoë laughed, before agreeing with Perseus. "Great!" Perseus said. "We'll leave after we eat."
Present:
Perseus waited until Artemis rode her chariot into the sky, as he knew the Greek army would be sleeping after the long first battle. He made sure Zoë wore a cloak so she wouldn't be identified by one of Agamemnon's men.
When they reached the beach, Perseus removed Zoë cloak and set it down on the beach. Zoë took a deep breath, acknowledging the scents of the beach and the cool breeze in the air. Before she could fully relax, however, Perseus grabbed her hand and led her towards the water.
"What are you doing?" Zoë asked.
Perseus smiled. "Do you trust me, Zoë?"
Zoë looked puzzled. "Yes, of course Perseus, why?"
Perseus looked towards the sea and then swiveled back towards Zoë. "Can I show you something?"
Zoë nodded before he kept walking them towards the sea. He then let go of her hand before walking into the sea. However, before she could call his name, she noticed that he was walking on water and her jaw dropped. "...Zoë, Zoë, come on, walk with me," Perseus said, breaking her out of her shock.
Zoë tentatively walked towards the water before placing her left foot on the surface of the water. Instead of breaking through like it normally would, she found her foot resting on top of the water. She then placed her right foot on the water and slowly walked out towards Perseus, who was smiling.
He grasped her hand before running across the sea, chuckling at her dumbfounded expression. After they ran about fifty feet, Perseus slowed to a stop and faced Zoë with a smile on his face. "Zoë, close your eyes."
She looked at him warily before he rolled his eyes.
"Please Zoë, if I was going to do something, I would have already done it, and I would also be dead because my mother would have smited me."
Zoë chuckled before closing her eyes. The moment she did, she felt a slight breeze as she felt herself going down into the sea. She let out a muffled scream as they submerged underwater.
She panicked for a second, before her eyes opened and she noticed she wasn't wet. She realized that Perseus must have made an air bubble for them as they sank towards the sea floor.
Zoë looked at him confused before Perseus smiled. "Sorry, it was easier to show you than tell you."
Zoë slapped him playfully before she grabbed his hand again as they began walking on the ocean floor. As they walked, Perseus pointed out sea life that Zoë would never have noticed by herself. Eventually, Perseus pointed out a reef as he brought them up towards it and sat down above it. As Zoë sat down, she saw the calmness in his face. She saw his sea green eyes and couldn't help but stare at his face. It was as if it was sculpted by Hephaestus himself.
"If you wanted to look at my face, I would have just drawn you a picture," Perseus said, chuckling at Zoë's reddening face. "I love being down here, it helps me calm down and control my thoughts, and I thought you might like it too."
Zoë smiled at the thought of Perseus thinking about her happiness.
Perseus turned to face Zoë, an apologetic expression on his face. "I'm so sorry you are stuck in camp. My mother should be here soon, so hopefully I can get you out of here before the war gets even more devastating than it has already."
Zoë looked back at Perseus. "Why are you apologizing? You saved me, and you have gone out of your way to keep me safe and happy. You even killed an ally to protect me. You don't have to apologize."
Perseus nodded with a small smile and faced back towards the sea.
Zoë stared at his features once more before slowly resting her head on his shoulder. She thought she messed up, as he tensed at the touch of her face on his skin, before he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer. Zoë smiled; she couldn't help but be attracted to Perseus, even though she couldn't trust another man after what happened with Heracles.
They sat in silence, arms around each other, sitting in the sea before Zoë finally spoke up. "Will I see you again after I leave?"
Perseus looked at her with a surprised expression on his face, before looking at her sadly. "I'm not sure. I hope so, but I can't be sure."
Zoë looked saddened before he continued, "The prophet Calchas told our mother that Troy would not fall without my brother and I. He also said one of us would die. As much as I would love to see you again, I may not survive this war against Troy. Even if I do survive, I don't know what I would do without my brother. Honestly, I would prefer if I die instead of him."
Zoë looked at him with sadness. "Why did you come?"
Perseus shrugged. "It's our duty as Greeks. Even if we didn't agree with the war, and believe me, we don't, my brother and I are not cowards, and we weren't raised to be. We are Greek, and our loyalty is with her if we are called to fight."
Zoë just stared at him, unsure of what to say. When she opened her mouth, she was silenced by Perseus putting his lips to hers. At first, she was unsure of what to do, before she recovered and kissed him back. His lips felt soft on hers, and while it was her first kiss, she enjoyed it. After a minute, they broke away and stared at each other in shock.
Perseus turned away. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."
Zoë forced Perseus to look at her. "Don't be," she said with a shy smile.
Perseus smiled at her response before scooping her up bridal style, causing Zoë to yelp. "Let's go back, I must ready myself for tomorrow's battle." As he said this, he shot forward towards the surface, being propelled by the currents before shooting out of the water and landing on the beach, Zoë still in his arms.
"Sorry, that was quicker," Perseus said with a chuckled.
Zoë sent a playful glare at him before jumping out of his arms before grabbing her cloak. Perseus put it on her as they walked into their camp hand in hand. As they walked into Perseus' tent, Zoë walked over to Perseus as he was taking off his shirt. She stood on her tiptoes and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Thanks Perseus, I really enjoyed tonight," she said as she retreated to their bed. Perseus smiled before touching the place where she kissed him before heading off in the same direction to get some rest for tomorrow.
AN: Hey guys. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'm going to do Perzoe, and this is the last chance to let me know if you guys want Zoë to not join the hunters. I want her to, as the next chapter will be after a few days, and Perseus and Zoë will become closer, but she will have to leave him. Please let me know how you feel about this. Anyways, thanks so much guys, and please comment!
