"I want to know why she's so hell bent on keeping you safe Aris." I heard Thomas's voice.
"She said she made some promise to Sonya." Aris tried reasoning. "Why?"
"She never thought she would see newt again. Sonya was the only one she would open up to. She loved her." Aris finished. Dammit Aris. I suddenly shifted as I groaned lightly. "She's waking up!" Fry said as my eyes blinked open.
"Where the hell are we?" I grunted as I tried sitting up and failing. "Some place like and old building that was covered in sand." Aris told me. "Help me up." I growled lightly as the stinging of pain in my body as Minho helped me up.
I stood for a moment as I shifted on my feet. I silently cursed myself ignoring the pain as I saw Winston crouched over something. "Winston what do you got?" I asked as I leaned down beside him with a low hissing sound.
"Footprints. Someone's been here?" He said as more of a question. I just shrugged as I pulled myself back up. I started following the steps hearing the others whisper behind me. "Is she ok?" Aris asked.
"No. She's going to hurt herself more if she doesn't rest and clean her wounds." I growled lowly. "I'm fine. You're not whispering very quietly." I grumbled. "Shut up and focus on getting out of here."
They gave me concerned looks as I frowned. They were just worried about me. "Sorry." I made my way over to a door as I saw the boy's holding flashlights. I reached over trying to open them but as soon as I did my side started burning.
I held my ribs tightly. Minho and Thomas rushed over to help me stand but I shrugged them off. We walked in to see supplies as I took a look around.
"We need a plan." Newt implied like we didn't already know. Everyone looked to me for answers.
"Minho and Thomas. You boys come with me. We are searching for the area. Everyone else stay here. Pack what you need."
"We don't know if people live here. Don't take too much. I don't want them stranded." I said unsure as I grabbed a flashlight. "Taylor maybe you should sit this one out." Fries recommend as I pushed past them. "Minho, Thomas let's go."
I ignored fry as I turned the flashlight on. We went into a giant area as Minho spoke up.
"Everyone we left behind; I don't want to end up like that kitty." He said nervously. "Promise me Taylor."
I thought for a moment before nodding. "Promise." As we walked farther Thomas whispered next to me. "That a promise you can keep?" He asked me as I looked to see Minho. "I'm going to try."
"Guys." Minho called to us as we walked over with him to see a skeleton in a chair. I growled lowly as I grabbed something throwing it. "Dammit!" I grabbed my side quickly as I bent to a knee.
"You need to get yourself cleaned up Taylor." Minho said more worried than before. "Guys check this out." Thomas said looking at the power box. I stood to my feet as I pointed my flashlight at the wires.
"They had power?" Minho asked looking to me for an answer. I just shrugged slightly as I started following the wires out through some doors.
As I looked around, I noticed the extreme number of generators in the room. They must have had power for a while.
As I kept looking around, I saw the many teddy bears and posters sitting against a chain fence. Most likely honoring the lives lost.
Thomas and I walked closer to the fence when he suddenly turned around. "Minho waits."
Thomas warned causing me to shoot up and lean against the fence. Minho had turned on a generator causing all lights to turn on.
He had a smile on his face till it dropped. "Taylor look out!" He called out as I felt something grab me from the fence.
The boys quickly pulled the thing off of me as I got a look at it. It was a crank. I took a drop breath as I breathed heavily.
Another one came from in front of us as I watched Minho hit the other crank. We heard screaming behind us seeing more.
"We got to go now!" I shouted as we started running back to the others. We ran back through the doors closing them behind us.
"Hold it!" Minho called as he went and started pushing a cabinet on the door. He finally got it as we started running back.
We ran back up the escalator. We kept running back to the others as the pain started again. Thomas started telling for the others to run when we got them into sight. We quickened our speed up more escalators.
As we made it to the second level, we were stopped by a crank that newt quickly hit with a metal pole. I looked to see Thomas getting seperated with the girl I still didn't know. She gave me a bad vibe.
I shook my head trying to stay focused as we kept running. Suddenly glass broke behind me as I saw newt get tackled.
I quickly ran over tackling the thing off him. "Go!" I yelled as they looked at me. "Run!" I shouted trying to keep the thing from biting or scratching me. I heard their footsteps moving.
I noticed a pole not far as I reached for it. My eyes shifted to more cranks coming as I finally got the pole and smacked it against the crank before running after them.
I headed for the door they went through seeing them not far in front of me. They were trying to get every door open till the red door.
They finally got it open seeing me. I quickly ran through it. Suddenly a crank grabbed Winston as we all tried pulling him through.
They clawed at his stomach breaking skin as we finally got him through. I ran behind the door.
"Run! I'll hold it closed!" I called to the boys making them move. Once I figured they were far enough I ran after them.
It felt like bells were ringing in my ears as I tried to ignore the pain in my body. Once we finally lost them, we all stayed silent. That's how the night went.
