Blake watches as Bella and Jake giggle and chat. How is it that she's even invaded this little bubble, her happy bubble? How has it that, yet again, Bella has taken the small amount of happiness she had? Jake is smitten with Bella, always has been. And since her sister turned up with a couple dirt bikes for him to fix up, he's been head over heels for her. And it's like Blake doesn't exist.
"Hey I'm gonna use the bathroom." Blake mutters and walks off, heading inside. She goes to the small bathroom and sits on the closed toilet, pulling her phone out. There's another email...
She sighs and opens it, reading it. It starts as the last few have.
Hey B... Me again. I know you're avoiding me, I know you're getting these. I know you're hurting. I just wanted to see how you are? I miss you. I've just finished my Biology module, my new teacher sucks and there's no you - you always made lessons fun. And math is a bore without you. I miss you. Stay safe, okay? - Alice.
Blake rolls her eyes and sends it to her archive with the rest. Why can't she get the hint? Ever since they left, Alice has been emailing Blake. She used to go into a lot more detail, ask how she is and stuff. Though they're still regular, they come less often and shorter and shorter. Blake hopes they'll eventually stop and the Cullen family will be a page in her past, gone for good.
She reaches into her pocket and pulls the pill bottle out, her heart leaping as she sees it empty. "No no no..." She whispers, her heart pounding. How did she let them run out?! Fuck!
Blake frantically searches the Black's bathroom but nothing remotely like her painkillers is there. She stares at her self in the mirror and, without really thinking, turns and slams her hand in the door. An almighty scream leaves her mouth and she feels herself almost faint, sliding down the wall.
Jacob and Bella run in at the sound of the scream, gasping as they see Blake. "B!!" Bella yells, kneeling by her sister.
Blake clutches her hand and leans her head back, taking a shaky breath. "I-I think its broken." She whispers, squeezing her eyes shut.
"I'll get your keys, get her to the car." Jacob says, rushing out.
Bella helps her twin up, helping her to the car. "How do you even do that!?" She says in shock as Blake tells her she accidentally slammed it in the door.
"Clutz." Blake mutters, leaning her head back. She ends up sandwiched between Jake and Bella as they rush to the hospital.
Thank god it is broken, and she gets prescribed a small dose of painkillers. That isn't going to be enough. When the doctor turns the talk to the nurse, Blake slowly grabs the prescription pad she left on the side. She slips it in her bag and gets up, her broken hand in a sling.
"Thanks." She mutters, slipping out.
Bella and Jake leap up as she enters the waiting room. "Hey, she's alive!" Jake says cheerily.
Blake smiles small. "That I am. Sorry I can't make the movie tonight."
"Don't be stupid, we'll go another time." Bella says.
"No no, go. Drop me home and go have fun." She forces a smile. Let me get high in piece.
Bella sighs small. "I was really hoping we'd get to hang out. Let's get your prescription on the way home."
