Blake takes a shaky breath as she stares at the silver wolf that stands on the place of the man she may possibly love. "Okay... Okay, I'm gonna sit." She says, slowly sinking to the floor.

The wolf follows, sinking to lay down with its head on its paws. He gives a soft whine as he watches her react, hoping she won't run. He gets it of she does, but it won't stop the rejection hurting.

"S-so you're a wolf?" She whispers. He gives a whine as a yes. "And... And you understand me?" He rolls his eyes. "Hey, don't you roll your eyes at me."

He smirks a bit, his teeth showing. Blake takes another deep breath. "Is this what all your tribe does?" He whines to say yes, though he needs words to explain that more. "Right... Okay... I definitely ODed again. Hey!" She moves her leg away as he snatches her jeans between his teeth. "Okay, I didn't. Jesus christ Embry, you're a wolf! Can you like come back?"

He stands, sitting back and closing his eyes. It takes a moment but he phases back, quickly grabbing his boxers as he turns away and slips them on. He turns back to Blake as he slips his shorts and t-shirt on, watching her. "Sooo..?"

"I'm going to kill you first. Then Jacob. Then Quil." She says. "You all lied to me!? Did Bella know?" She demands.

"Unfortunately, yes. Bella knew. That's a looong story that maybe Jacob can tell you." He says, sitting opposite her on the wet sand. "So, are we gonna sit here? Those rain clouds are coming fast."

"Hmm, I can't really feel my legs right now. Gimme a moment." She says.

He smiles a little. "You're taking this pretty well."

"Nope. No I'm not. I'm just exhausted and not really surprised." She says.

"Oh cmon, you expected me to turn into a giant wolf!?"

She giggles a bit. "Okay, maybe not that part. But I sorta knew something was off... You're all freakishly tall and way too warm for a human. I thought maybe you're genetically mutated or something."

Embry rolls his eyes. "Come on, Jellybaby, let's get you home." He says, pulling her up. "I have more to say."

-

"So, I'm your mate?" Blake asks again.

"If that's what you want to call it, yes. You're my imprint. Soulmate. Mate. Partner." Embry says, throwing a pair of shorts at her. "You've got wet sand all of your ass, change into these."

"You're bossy now you've imprinted." She smirks.

He rolls his eyes and smirks back. "I imprinted a while ago, baby."

"You did? So, if it's so instant, why didn't it happen that first time I saw you after you changed?" Blake asks, kicking her wet jeans off as Embry stays in the closet to change his shorts.

"I thought about that." He says, coming out. "I think you were so... Yknow... That it confused my wolf."

Blake scowls. "So I could've had you sooner? That sucks."

Embry smiles. "Would you... Would you have liked me, even if you weren't destined to be mine?" He asks as she follows him to the laundry room.

"I can't believe you never got the hint when we used to hang out. God, that long hair you had!"

"Fuck! You liked the hair!?" Embry laughs. "Damn it, I wish I could grow it again."

Blake giggles and runs her fingers through his short hair. "It's okay. I like this too. Makes you look older."

He smiles and kisses her cheek. "Come on, I wanna show you something."

Blake raises an eyebrow as he pulls her to the living room. She gasps as he picks up the picture of their gang at prom, and then the one of him and her. "You put these up?"
