Blake taps her ring on her phone as she waits for the plane to take off, lost in thought. She wears her engagement ring on her right hand and her wedding ring on her left. Carlisle's hand gently lays over hers to stop the tapping and she looks up. "Stop. You're overthinking and there is no need. You killed it on stage yesterday, now let's get home so you can talk."
"How would we even do it Carlisle?" She whispers, sighing. "His samples can't be given to a hospital, can't be put on a system. His pack would be exposed."
"It may not come to that. Tell your doctor you want to try every other possible treatment first, okay? Now, stop worrying. Worry when nothing else works, when you have no options." He says gently, kissing her head.
She leans it on his shoulder and her wraps his arm around her, pushing the seat arm back so she can cuddle into him. Her and Carlisle have a good relationship, and it may be better than her one with Bella. Only because he's there when she calls; Bella is still sometimes very... Bella.
Blake sleeps most of the flight, the journey taking about 4 or 5 hours. Carlisle gently wakes her when they land in Seattle and they head for the next gate, boarding the next flight, which is about half the time. When they land, Carlisle takes the bags as Blake turns her phone off airplane mode.
Shes a little surprised to find no more texts from Embry. Just as she's about to put her phone away to walk to the car, she gets one message.
Turn around.
She frowns and looks up as she turns, smiling wide when she sees her husband with a bunch of orange roses and a sheepish smile. She runs to him and throws her arms around him; he easily catches her and holds her close, closing his eyes for a moment.
"I know you're sad, but please don't ignore me for 2 days. I was going crazy all the way back here." He whispers, tucking a piece of her hair back.
Blake nods small. "I'm sorry... It was just a lot all at once." She blushes.
He smiles gently. "I know baby, I just wanted to know you're okay - from your mouth, not his." He nods to Carlisle who smirks.
"Hi Embry... Heard a lot about you this weekend." Carlisle says.
Embry raises an eyebrow as Blake smirks. "No need to explain it. Let's get home, I miss my bath tub." She giggles.
"You mean swimming pool." Embry rolls his eyes; she wanted a bigger bath a few months ago, since she uses it to unwind. She ordered the biggest she could find and had Emmett and Edward install it the day it arrived.
Blake hugs Carlisle tightly as they get to their cars, Embry shaking his hand and getting in the truck as Blake smiles. "Thank you... For talking me down... Again." She says the last part quickly.
He chuckles. "No problem, kid. Talk to him." He says, kissing her head before he gets in the car.
Blake gets in the truck and waves as Carlisle leaves first. She smiles a little and takes her husbands hand, watching him focus on getting out of the tricky car park. "You're cute when you're quiet."
He smirks and looks over for a moment. "I'm always cute. How was it?"
She smiles. "It was... Scary. But I think I got through to a lot of people. When Flynn released his paper on breaking barriers, he received a lot of stick for it. But I think hearing it from a patient doing well after that kind of therapy has helped. I hope so, anyway, coz I don't think I can do that again. 200 kids in a school hall or 30 kids in a facility? Easy. 2000 people with cameras and degrees? Not so easy. "
