ADRIAN MADE SURE THAT HIS FATHER WAS BUSY BEFORE HE TOOK OFF IN THE DIRECTION OF THE MAPLE STREET CUL-DE-SAC. He had decided that it would be fun to go trick-or-treating since he was never really able to.

His gelled back hair felt cool on the top of his head as his leather jacket flew by his skinny body. He hadn't seen any movies for a while, so he just put a costume together.

The autumn air flared his nostrils as he kept a sharp eye out for the four boys that he was supposed to meet up with.

He slyly smirked as he caught a glimpse of four matching ghostbuster costumes walking down a hill of a house and he stopped walking, his sneakers scraping against the ground.

He immediately wished he had brought a thicker jacket from the cold breeze that was hitting against his somewhat tan skin, his freckles threatening to fade.

He scrunched his nose as he fell back behind the boys, wanting to scare the living daylights out of them, but someone had beat him to it.

A person jumped out from behind a neighborhood sign and yelled, causing the boys in front of him to jump and scream as Adrian doubled over in laughter.

The person behind the mask laughed loudly and took it off, revealing to the group that it was the new girl, Max. "Holy shit! You should've seen the looks on your faces."

Max turned to Lucas, a large grin on her face. "And you? Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl." She laughed and turned around, walking off.

She turned around and noticed that not even one boy had moved a muscle. "Hey, you guys coming or not? Oh, I heard we should hit up Lock Nora. That's where the rich people live, right?"

Adrian laughed as Dustin and Lucas took off behind her, Will following right after. But he raised his eyebrows when he noticed that Mike hesitantly followed after them like he didn't want to at all.

The brunette followed after Mike, running to catch up with him. "Hey, pretty boy, wait up." Mike turned around and quirked an eyebrow.

"Did Dustin and Lucas invite you, too?" Adrian nodded as he held onto his pillowcase tightly. "Yup."

Mike nodded before turning back to the front and walking towards the rest of the group.

"Another full-size. Like, seriously, rich people are sick suckers." Dustin said as he dropped a candy bar into his pillowcase.

Dustin's face fell as he looked toward Max. "Wait. You're not rich, right?" He asked, making sure he didn't offend the girl.

"No, I live up Old Cherry Lane." Dustin nodded, not realizing the other three boys behind them that they were leaving behind.

Adrian couldn't hear the rest of their conversation because did how far away the three teenagers were getting.

He chewed on a Twix bar as he strolled down the streets in between Mike and Will.

"Did you agree to this?" Will dropped his camera to his side as the two other boys turned to Mike. "What?" Will asked in a small voice.

"To her joining our party." Adrian scoffed but continued eating his candy. "It's just for Halloween." Will pointed out in hopes of Mike calming down.

"You should have checked with me." Adrian wanted to knock some sense into the raven boy but decided to keep quiet.

"Well, they were excited. I guess I thought you'd be okay with it." Will tried to reason.

"She's ruining the best night of the year," Mike stated before stomping off. Adrian sighed, anger washing over him as he watched Mike runoff. He rested a hand on Will's shoulder. "I'll go talk to him." Will nodded with a tight smile as he watched Adrian run after Mike.

Adrian shoved Mike on the shoulder, causing the boy to stumble. "What the hell was that?" Adrian almost shouted at the boy. "What was what?"

"You whining over Max coming along for Halloween." Mike rolled his eyes. "I didn't whine." Adrian chuckled lightly.

"All right. Listen here, Wheeler. You need to suck it up and stop acting like a baby. She's just hanging out with Dustin and Lucas for Halloween. You need to get over it. It's not like she's going to join the party permanently." Mike glared at Adrian, even though he knew he was right.

"Max is only trying to make friends, alright? You need to understand that." Mike crossed his arms over his chest as he glared at the boy.

"If you love her so much why don't you marry her?" Mike spat pettily. "I don't love her. And besides, she's not my type."

Mike pursed his lips before he looked behind him, furrowing his eyebrows. Adrian followed his gaze before realizing that Will wasn't behind them. "Where's Will?" Mike asked the boy.

The three other teens in front of them heard the two start to run off and quickly ran after them, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Will!" Adrian shouted with his hands cupped around his mouth. Mike frantically looked around the road, noticing his camera. Adrian almost gasped when he saw someone bolt down an alley.

"This way!" Adrian shouted at the group before bolting down the stairs, freezing when he saw Will covering his ears, and almost looking like he was about to cry. Mike ran up and placed his hands on the smaller boy's shoulder, trying to shake him out of whatever he was doing.

"Will! Wake up!" Mike shouted at him as Adrian worriedly bit the inside of his cheek. His hair had fallen from his gel from how fast he had run over here and was now sticking to the sides of his face.

"Will!" Will gasped and whimpered as he stared at Mike. "Will, what's wrong?" Will breathed heavily as his eyes darted around the enclosed alley they were in.

"I couldn't find you. Are you hurt?" Adrian felt sweat fall from his forehead as the three other teenagers ran down the brick stairs. "Holy shit!" Cursed Dustin.

"Is he okay?" Lucas asked once he saw the state of the boy in front of them, Max just cluelessly looked at them.

"I don't know. I'm gonna get you home, okay? I'm gonna get you home. Hold on." Adrian bent down to help Mike lift the boy but he was shoved back by Mike, causing him to fall.

"I got him." Mike glared at Adrian before helping Will up, wrapping an arm around the boy. "Mike?" Dustin spoke in confusion.

"Keep trick-or-treating. I'm bored anyway." Mike spat at them before receding up the stairs.

"Okay, what the hell."

"What's wrong with him?" Max asked in confusion, having no clue what was going on.
