snowball

ADRIAN STOOD IN FRONT OF HIS MIRROR, FIXING THE COLLAR OF HIS SHIRT. He wasn't supposed to be going to the snowball, but he wanted to. So he was disobeying his father.

He looked at the rainbow bracelet that was laying on the counter and huffed. He looked at himself in the mirror, shaking his head. He reached over and grabbed it, pulling it onto his wrist before fixing his hair, but he didn't really care how he looked.

He walked over to his bed and sat down, pulling on his black converse. His cheeks had grown a natural pink because of the new cold weather.

It was called the snowball for a reason. Once Adrian was finished he exited his room, walking down the old creaky stairs. "Adrian. Where are you going?" His father slurred from the kitchen.

"The snowball," Adrian answered confidently. His father sighed before shaking his head. "Just no kissin' no one, all right?" Adrian raised his eyebrows but nodded.

"Yeah." He exited the house and smiled brightly. He had never been that nice to him before. He hopped onto his bike and pedaled down the street, taking in the scent of fresh vanilla and cinnamon.

He smiled as the cool air brushed against his face, causing his cheeks to turn a bit pinker. He loved Winter. He loved hot chocolate, snowmen, warm fires, and Christmas. He just loved all of it.

Adrian pulled into the school parking lot and smiled when he saw the decoration for the snowball. He pushed his bike onto the bike rack before flattening his clothes out.

He walked past all the kids getting out of cars and walked inside, pulling his ticket out of his pocket. He smiled at Mr. Clarke as he placed the blue piece of paper into a bowl, where the rest of them were.

"Good evening, Adrian." Adrian nodded. "Good evening." He replied before pushing through the second set of doors, looking around the room for his group of friends. He smiled when he saw familiar red hair and walked over.

"Adrian!" Max shouted happily as Adrian sat down next to Mike. He looked between the four that were already there. "Where's Dustin?" Adrian asked.

"He should be here any minute." And as if on cue, Dustin walked up, his hair looking an awful lot like Steve's.

"Holy shit what happened to you?" Mike asked as he stood up, Adrian laughing loudly. "What do you mean, 'What happened'?" Dustin asked.
