Frostfire magic shot dangerously at Retak'ka. Arrows of ice and flames chased the Dark Mage wherever he jumped. Blaze and Ice stood firm, standing strong despite the disadvantage of the lower ground.
Retak'ka kept his smile as he jumped tree to tree. It didn't faze the twins one bit when it seemed like he was enjoying himself. Their glowing eyes met his for a second, but it felt like time slowed down completely for them.
" We have to get on the higher ground. We will miss shots like this, " Ice told his twin. The older twin nodded to Ice, turning around to the many battles behind him.
" Quake! " he called, making the Earth Mage turn around. Once Blaze's eyes met his, he gave the older boy a quick nod.
Quake abandoned a dark creature devoured in sand and ran straight towards his little brothers." Hop! " he sounded, signaling them to jump with him. Mid-jump they were suddenly being supported and lifted to the air by a rising tower of earth. Quake directed the tower of earth however he wanted, like Ice does when he'd direct a wave of water.
Blaze and Ice kept their eyes on Retak'ka, who hovered across from them. With the advantage of higher ground now, they could aim better and took less hits and damage. They were so focused on Retak'ka that the explosion under them almost scared them out of their skins.
" They need help! " Blaze exclaimed. Though the bottom was almost covered by fog and dusty smoke, they could very vaguely see... Arms of what they could make out as plants swinging just above the smoke.
" He is using dark Nature Magic! Leaf cannot fight against them on his own! " Quake worried. He was afraid that Leaf couldn't hold his own against the dark magic, though he knew he was a very skilled Nature Mage, his heart wasn't the strongest of them all.
Ice realized they needed someone to go aid them. He doubted Cyclone and Thunder could be capable in doing so, so he made a tough decision. " Blaze-ah, you have to go down and help them. You have use your Fire Magic to set fire to the plants and keep them from hurting anyone else. "
Blaze turned around, shocked. " But you can't face Retak'ka on your own! "
" Quake needs to be up here to maintain the high ground! Cyclone and Thunder might be hurt and can't fight! Your magic, as far as I've seen, is the most effective against dark Nature Magic! My Ice Magic can hold them but it won't kill them, " Ice fought back. " You must go. "
Blaze was torn. He really did want to go help Leaf, but he couldn't leave his brother alone up there. Ice could see the uncertainty in his eyes. " We'll be fine, Blaze. Nothing has ever stopped us before, why would it stop us now? They need you, you should go, " he smiled. " Besides, I have Quaky here with me. "
Blaze noticing Quake giving him a reassuring smile made him calm down a bit. All in all, Ice was right. He shouldn't hesitate to help others when he knows that he had the advantage to help. He smiled at Ice. " Be careful. "
Ice smiled back. " When have I not been careful, Idiot? "
The three of them shared smiles before Blaze pulled away from his and Ice's magic connection. He turned his back and jumped down, battle crying as he summoned his fire magic on the dark plants. Leaf and Solar smiled widely at the sight of him.
" Blaze! You're here! " Leaf exclaimed.
" What about Quake and Ice? " Solar asked, concern lurking around his voice.
