a woman loses her voice before the story even begins.
a woman loses her choice before the story even begins.
he falls in love with her before the story even begins
and she decides she could do worse, and she is
used up again and again and goodness knows she's only there to trade away.
a woman is poisoned.
she takes the apple hoping for a happy ending
but women don't get happy endings, do they? the knife will find her chest,
the bullet will find her back,
teeth will close around her and she can't even scream
because she lost her voice, remember?
they are all hungry.
nothing that looks sweet ever is.
but she looks sweet, doesn't she?
doesn't she have teeth too?
no army would follow her but she's ravenous enough
to swallow them all.
the only way out of the fairytale is to be hungry
and you are, aren't you?
you will die in the end whether you're the princess or the monster.
your life stands on the tip of the knife
and whichever way you fall, you're already bleeding.
maybe that's the real moral of the fairytale.
you might as well die trying to start something.
