After Kara flies back to her apartment, Alex, worried about her sister's feelings, heads over there after spending time with Maggie. She finds Kara emotionally distraught and attempts to help her heal.
Alex went over to Kara's apartment, but before she entered, she heard cries and sobs coming from inside. "Kara?" She called out. The sobs and cries only got louder. "I'm coming in." Alex said, as she used her own key to unlock Kara's apartment door. The sight of Kara broken emotionally nearly broke her heart. "Oh babygirl." Alex said. "What's wrong?" "I...I sent him away." Kara replied sobbing. "I...I'll never see him again." "Yes you will. What does your heart tell you?" Alex replied. "I don't know. My heart is broken." Kara said crying.
"You did what you had to do. You did the only thing that was best for everybody involved; I know it wasn't an easy choice to make." Alex assured her. "It killed me to have to do that; It still does." Kara replied. "I know. It hurts like hell. It will never be better that he's gone, but I promise you, it will get better." Alex replied. "How?" Kara said. "I lost someone I love and care about; Someone who I could relate to. Someone who made me feel good about myself. I don't think I'll ever get over this." Kara said, still crying. "You will, with time that is." Alex assured her. "I know it may not seem like that now, but you'll come back from this. You will recover." "I just feel empty and lost." Kara said. "I know." Alex replied.
"Hold me, please?" Kara asked. Alex nodded and embraced her sister, allowing her to sob into her shoulders. "I'm here for you o.k.? You don't have to go through this alone." Alex said. Kara nodded into her sister's shoulders as she continued to cry. She was still hurt emotionally, but thankful for her sister's presence in a tough time. "Thank you for coming." Kara said softly, but still crying. "I knew you needed this." Alex replied. "I did; Thank you." Kara said back.
Poor Kara, she's still suffering from separation anxiety and emotional pain. Luckily Alex is there for her no matter what. Anyways, in a follow-up to this chapter, Kara apologizes to Alex for being so distant with her in the aftermath of Mon-El's departure from Earth-38.
