Your P.O.V.

I walk into the precinct and head to Gil's office, where Malcolm is sitting, talking to Gil.

"Morning Malcolm, Gil!"

"Morning (y/n)!" They both say.

"How are you two?"

"We're okay. How are you?" Gil speaks for the both of them.

"The same as you two. What's on the agenda today?" I ask as I sit in the chair beside Malcolm.

"Nothing yet. Hey, I bought you a coffee." He hands me a cup.

"Aw thanks Mal. You didn't have to." I hold onto the nice warm cup.

I take a sip of the coffee when Gil's phone rings.

"Hello? Yes. Yep. Okay we'll be there in a bit. Bye. *call ended* We have a homicide downtown. Let's go."

We leave the precinct and get into Gil's car before we head to the crime scene.

"So, what do we have?" I asked Gil as we walk into the house.
"29 year old female who was violently killed. She appears to have been stabbed and strangled."
"God, that's horrible. Thanks Gil. I'll have a look around."

I make my way around the living room to see what could have happened. She had a family. Two kids, a boy (5) and a girl (3), and a husband. The poor children. I can't imagine losing your mother at such a young age.

I investigate ths body to find out what had occured. I keep finding bruises all over the poor lady's body. On her arms, her thighs, her stomach. Seems to me her husband was abusive. I stand up to look around the house as well.

"Did you guys find anything?" Gil calls to (y/n) and I.
"I did."
"Me too."

(Y/n) and I make our way to Gil to report to him.

"It seemed that the attack had started in the bedroom. The lady tried to get away but whoever did this had managed to stop her from going anywhere, and that's where he killed her. In the living room."

Gil nods before looking at me.

"Well, I think the person of interest would have to be her husband. I found lots of bruises on her body, indicating that her husband was abusive. They may have gotten into an argument in the bedroom but it had escalated. Resulting in her death."
"E-excuse me."

(Y/n) then walks away, causing me to look at Gil confused, while he just looks in her direction with a heartbroken look.

"What's wrong with her?" Gil sighs.
"(Y/n) was also in an abusive relationship. I saved her before it was too late. She was beaten so bad when I had found her, laying in the street, just outside her apartment."

I suddenly feel bad for her. I tell Gil i'm gonna talk to her before leaving the house and finding her, sitting at the bottom of the steps. I slowly walk down before sitting beside her. She has her hands on her face and her shoulders shake.

"I'm sorry." I quietly say.

She stops crying for a second before lifting her face and looking at me.

"For what?"
"For what happened to you. Gil told me what happened. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. You didn't deserve it. Do you wanna talk about what happened in there?" She sniffles.
"Well, when you mentioned the fact her husband was abusive, it just reminded m-me of what I went through. T-the pain, t-the torture. Everything. I-it just made me feel grateful that it n-never got that far for me. I-i just f-feel so b-bad for her and her children. Oh my god. If he did that to her, what has h-he done to her children? Mal we need to go find them."

She quickly stands up from the steps and goes to run away but I also shoot up from the stairs and grab her wrist.

"Hey. Hey. They'll be okay. We'll send some people check up on them. But right now, we need to find him. Now c'mere."

I pull her to me and wrap her in a hug.

I hold onto Malcolm and try to calm myself down. I've never felt this safe in someone's arms before. It feels nice. I breathe in his scent before we pull away from eachother. We smile at each other before we head back in.

*Time skip to a week later*

We found the girl's husband and he was sent to jail. We also found out that he had also hurt the children. They were taken to an orphanage and are awaiting adoption.

Malcolm and I have gotten much closer and we started to dating. He's such a sweetheart and he treats me so much better then my ex. I love him with my whole heart.
