The Unwanteds....except in the Hunger Games

Part 7

"Damn it Sky, you cant just mind your own business can you?" Kaylee says holding her sword against Sky's who was pressing hard at Kaylee.  Sky made another swing, but Kaylee once again defended herself and swung her sword to clash with Sky's. "Why do you keep Attacking people?"

"Why else," Sky replied. She tried another swing slicing Kaylee's arm. Kaylee, kicked Sky to the ground, though she sprawled back up immediately and once again, the two girls began clashing swords.

'Wheres Aaron when you need him...' Kaylee thought, trying to hold back all of Sky's swings. The fight lasted a while, the sword sliping from each girl's grasp and cutting them. "You know we are putting on a real show for the Game makers right now," Kaylee exclaimed, her voice barely heard over the clanks.

"President Eagala must be enjoying this,"Sky adds. She makes an effort to trip Kaylee, but just stumbled on herself and falls. Kaylee seizes the opportunity and kicks the sword out of Sky's grasp, and points her own to Sky's chin.

"Stay down," Kaylee declared holding the sword at Sky's neck. Sky makes a strained nod, and Kaylee relaxes. Sky looked at Kaylee, and Kaylee looked back, both holding a gaze.

"Are you going to kill me or not?"Sky mutters. Kaylee draws her sword back. At first, Kaylee hesitated, and looked down at Sky.

"Go," she said. Sky sat up and raised an eyebrow. "Before I change my mind,". Sky got up, and sprinted back into the forest. When a cannon went off, Kaylee sighed and looked at Henry. She walked to him, and closed his eyes. Before she could put Henry away in a more comfortable spot, she heard the careers.

"Ha, he's just like Thatcher. Hiding in a tree!" a voice said. Kaylee immediately got up, and started running toward the voice. 'Oh no...Aaron..' she thought as she sprawled through the forest. She suddenly saw figures, and bent in a bush, hiding. She could see the four careers, and then Aaron in a tree, no weapons.

Kaylee eyed the four, Shanti, Rohan, Thisbe, and Fifer. 'Dev must've died.' Kaylee assumed, but her attention was back onto Aaron. He was in a tree, and the four were mocking him on the ground. She couldn't jump in, shed be outnumbered, so Kaylee just watched.

"Here, Ill just get Aaron. He does not even have a weapon." Thisbe spat, and then she began climbing the tree. Kaylee grew more anxious by the minute. She watched Thisbe climb the tree, and Aaron....he had some device in his hand. She squinted her eyes to look closer, but it was too late. The ground exploded, and Kaylee flew back, hitting a tree.

She shook her head, and watched her sky twirl. She was just watching Aaron, and then almost in slow-mo, the ground broke apart, and colors everywhere. Red, orange, yellow, gray. Kaylee shook her head again, and got back to her feet to check back on Aaron. The careers were dead....no not all. Thisbe looked scared but she kept going at Aaron. It was so out of the moment. 'That device...Aaron had. He had explosives didn't he.' All the trees were wilted in the area, and the one Aaron was on, looked to collapse.

"Hey!" Kaylee yelled, redirecting Thisbe's attention. Her mind still spun, but she couldn't imagine what Thisbe must have been feeling for she was closer to the explosion. Thisbe stumbled down the tree, and swung her dagger at Kaylee. Kaylee didn't flinch however, the dagger just sliced the air and wasn't even remotely close to Kaylee. Three cannons shot, and another one did just as Kaylee pierced Thisbe with her sword.

She took a minute to look at the person she just killed, but redirected her focus to Aaron. Kaylee jumped over Thisbe, and made her way across the bursted ground. 'How was Aaron able to pull off a thing like this?' Kaylee thought as she made her way to the wilted tree, and picked up Aaron who was unconscious.

She carried Aaron back, and placed him by Henry, who still wasn't picked up by the hovercrafts. She glanced at Henry, who took his life for her. She could never be more grateful. Then she looked at Aaron and realized. It was only she, Aaron, Samheed, Alex, and Sky left. They were the final 5...and only one could live.
