Chapter Six: A New Beginning (Part 2)

LIA'S POV

I was walking around the campus when I saw Phineas sitting alone and he looked really sad. I sat beside him, and as I did, I asked him:

"Phineas, what's the problem? You're usually happy."

He wiped his tears and said softly,

"It's Isabella. I liked her ever since high school, but she stopped liking me even before that."

I nodded. Then, something unexpected happened.

Phineas hugged me. I blushed so hard, but he didn't see it. I returned the hug, and I whispered in his ear

"Phineas, I like you."

PHINEAS' POV

When she confessed, I thought that it was rather obvious that she liked me, since she kissed me earlier. Then, I realized something. It was her all along. I should've just forgot about Isabella and focused on Lia.

"I like you too." I replied.

This time, I was the one who kissed her on her lips. Now, it didn't feel weird. It felt perfect.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, and pulled me closer to her. Then, I saw Isabella. The girl who broke my heart.

She raised one eyebrow, and Buford put his left arm around her.

"I guess you two are together now." she said.

Lia nodded.

"Well, I think you two should leave us alone." I said.

Isabella was furious. She probably got jealous, but how?

"I hate you, Phineas Flynn! I hate you!" she screamed.

ISABELLA'S POV

I didn't mean to scream it.

I was just surrounded with a lot of emotions, and I was confused.

I was about to tell Phineas, but it was too late.

"So, are you jealous?" he asked.

I shook my head. "Why would I be?"

He smiled.

"Why not?"

I was speechless.

What if I really was jealous? Now I'm really confused. How come I still wasted time on Phineas? No. No way, no. Not anymore. Nu-uh, nope. Never. I don't have feelings for him!
Get yourself together, Isabella! He doesn't care about you!

I thought.

Then, Buford and I walked home as the bell rang for dismissal.
