"I really don't see the point of going, father."

"You show up if it is Lucius Malfoy who invited you, Ria. Now, don't forget your earmuffs."

She took the dark green pair of earmuffs from his hands reluctantly, "It's not like they are gonna be useful anyway."

"Lucius, my old friend." The man opened his arms as he approached to greet Lucius Malfoy.

"Celatus," Lucius Malfoy responded with his signature diplomatic smile and elongated, stretched tone.

"You have...aged, my friend." Malfoy commented.

Indeed, while Lucius Malfoy looked like a platinum peacock with his long, shining hair just as usual, the man next to him looked prostrated with his blotchy grey hair and withered spin.

"Ah, and that must be, Miss Gloria, if I may." He gestured to Draco Malfoy for him to kiss the young lady standing behind Celatus Lectus on the hand.

" I find just Ria is sufficient, Mr. Malfoy, always a pleasure to see you." The young lady smiled and curtisided.

"Indeed." Lucius Malfoy's smile dimmed but it was just a split second before he gained back his contemptuous manner.

"Draco was rather wistful when we heard Lectus has sent you abroad to study...Asian magics. Afterall, you guys were quite close when you were younger."

"Draco was always kind to me. But fate works in weird ways, how nice is it for us to reunite again." Ria said, knowing very well Draco Malfoy never bothered to even pretend to like her the slightest bit. The few occasions she has visited Malfoy Manor, Draco enchanted her hat into an overly flamboyant peacock, making their unnecessarily luxury house pets keep chasing her everywhere as if she's another suitable play date.

"Indeed." This is the second time Lucius Malfoy has used this word tonight. "Perhaps you can spare Draco some insights from your education, he could work harder on his charms."

"How nice of you to say so, Mr.Malfoy, but I'm sure Draco can do a lot better than myself. I doubt any Asian magic could compete with Merlin's wisdom, afterall, we all know that was just only an excuse for me to avoid Hogwarts."

"Water under the bridge, Miss Ria. We are just truly grateful that you are back to join us. Perhaps we should proceed, I presume we don't want to keep the minister waiting for too long." Lucius Malfoy turned around and started leading the way.

Ria followed her father who followed Draco Malfoy, she could hear that boy thinking, he is so loud. Draco Malofy is upset about his father's comment on his inadequate performance on charms and believes what she learned are nothing but useless red herrings. She chuckled, causing her father to give her a warning glare.

Ria knew he was still upset about her decision--he still believed she was blinded by Dumbledore's appeared charismatic manner, but Ria knew that was not the reason.

Dumbledore paid them a visit after she had come back to Great Britain after 4 years of education in Asian countries, where she bounced between China, Japan, and Nepal, learning traditional medicine, ancient sorcery, and ingenious magic.

Her father was not happy for Dumbledore's sudden visit, but his well-trained manner demanded him to treat a guest with patience, and Ria could tell Dumbledore was expecting that. He expected her father to be miffed but not acting on it.

"So, headmaster Dumbledore, to what do we owe this visit today?" Her father instructed their house elf to offer Dumbledore some tea.

"Oh Celatus, you have alway remembered my preference." Dumbledore took a sip of his tea with two sugars and one teaspoonful of honey, deflecting.
