Jacob
"Okay," Chresanto started. "To start with, Ray's death wasn't an accident."
I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I know." He said. "When Ray was born, he was born into a world you would've never thought existed. Years later, when he was about four, he inherited gifts from his father. Gifts that made him different from your everyday human ans as he got older his father taught him how to control his gifts. Ray's mother on the other hand was completely human. When Ray started the second grade he accidentally exposed his gifts to a student while he was in the restroom. He didn't think anyone was watching. Well afterwards the kid started calling him different types of names that would really piss off a immortal child. Soon he grew tired of it and one day at recess he drew the kid into the forest, and let's just say, no one ever saw the kid again."
Hearing all of this was kind of, too much. This stuff just doesn't happen. This is like Twilight movie type shit.
"And then?" I said.
"They set up amber alerts and everything for the kid and til this day he was never found." Chresanto explained.
"So. . . Ray, killed him?" I swallowed.
"Most likely."
By this point I was confused. Ray would never killed anyone, and what did any of this have to do with me?
"I'm getting there." Chresanto said interrupting my thoughts. Did he just r-...
"Yes, I did. But anyway, Ray's mother and father found out it was Ray who caused the boy to go missing. So they moved here when Ray was going to the third grade. Before Ray came to school his father told him that he refused for Ray to have any contact with humans unless it was his teacher. Ray agreed remembering his past conflict with a human being. But that was the day Ray had met someone completely special, you. You guys became the best of friends really quick. As time went by you would always ask to go to Ray's house and hang out but he would always tell you t-"
"That his family doesn't like when he brings people home." I finished.
"Yeah. You noticed how every time you guys met up it was always in the forest behind your house? Well that's where Ray's house was. Deep in the center of the forest. Ray's father found out in the sixth grade that you two were hanging out and he blew up. It resulted into his father getting into an argument with his mother and his father leaving. For a while Ray was depressed and when you asked him what was wrong he would just tell you familh issues. Then came seventh grade, when I moved here. Jacob, you hated me. You thought I tried to take Ray from you but you never knew the actual story."
He was right. I wanted to kill him. Ray had always ditched me to hang out with Chres. I always thought I was making Ray mad, or that I was being a clingy friend.
"One of Ray's gifts, was sensing anyone with gifts like him. He sensed me. The reason Ray was always with me is because he had never met anyone like him. He always thought that he was the only one. Believe it or not, I'd always ask why we couldn't just bring you with us, but he had told me the story of when he was little. He didn't want that to happen again. I told him that you would never do that to him that you were his best friend. I actually wished you were there. I had a huge crush on you."
I looked away and started blushing at his words.
"Can we skip to graduation." I asked trying to change the subject.
"Ummm yeah, sure." He said. "After graduation you said that you saw a man in sunglasses. Take a wild guess on who that was?"
"Ray's father." I whispered. Then it all hit me. Ray's father was the one who crashed my car. He better have insurance.
"No no no, well yes and no and I don't know. Ray's father was going to try and kill you for hanging out with Ray. When you mentioned a man in sunglasses, Ray knew exactly who you were talking about. He knew he had to get you out of there. So that's why he brought up the whole going to eat thing. I read Ray's mind and decided to follow behind you guys just to make sure you were safe. When I saw Ray's father approaching the car. I drove into you guys before he did."
Tears now started to form in my eyes. The car crash and the death of my friend all came back to me.
"So you killed Ray." I said with a hint of anger in my voice. Chresanto just stared down. I got up and stormed out of the room and out the back do.
"Jacob?" Naane questioned. I just walked past her.
"Jacob!" I heard Chres yell. "Ray is NOT DEAD!"
I turned around. "What?"
A/N: Sooooo, what do you think? Good or nah. Hey I need a new character, anybody?
