"What do you mean Ray's not dead?" He asked.

"I mean Ray, is very much alive. Listen to me. Ray knew I was going to hit the car,  and when I did Ray knew he had to cause a scene making people believe he's dead, especially his father." I explained.

"So that way his father wouldn't come after me." Jacob said.

"Exactly." I said.

"Well, where is he?" Jacob asked. I knew this question would come, but I couldn't take him to Ray yet. It wouldn't be safe.

"I'll take you to him." I lied. Hearing that his eyes grew wide. He ran and jumped on me hugging me as hard as he could and wrapping his legs around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged back.

This hug felt so good. Being able to hug my crush of six years. Ughhh I didn't want this to end.

I unwrapped my arms a little but Jacob still held on. I cleared my throat a little causing him to come back to earth.

"Oh, umm. Yeah." Jacob said climbing off of me. This was awkward.

"Are you hungry or something?" I asked. "I know you probably haven't eaten anything today."

"Umm, yeah. I am actually." He said.

"Okay, well why don't I go out and get something for us to eat. You have to stay here though it's not safe for you to be out. Just stay here with Naane, she'll keep you company. " I told him.

"Alright." He said shyly playing with his fingers.

I walked him into the house and grabbed my keys off of the island and left.

Jacob

I walked into the living room area where Naane was sitting and and sat on the couch across from her.

"You are such an idiot." She said.

"Excuse me?" I was highly confused.

"You know he likes you?"

"Who Chres?" I asked playing dumb.

"Duuhhh." She said. "All he ever talks or talked about since we had to leave our land years ago is you. Jacob is so cute, or I wonder what Jacob is doing, or I wonder if Jacob is safe, or J-"

"Okay I get it." I interrupted.  "I don't know, I just used to hate him so much for a reason I never knew the truth behind that maybe I didn't really notice it."

I really didn't notice it. I think the whole him hanging out with Ray thing all the time caught me off guard. And what made things worse was I liked him too.  Hating someone and liking them isn't a good position to be in.

"So you do like my brother?" She said.

"You can read my mind too?" I asked. This is gonna be quite annoying.

"You'll get used to it." She said sitting back in her seat.

Ughhhhh.
