*Emma’s POV*
They kept arguing, I snuck out of the house, although dad notied me. I didn't care if he did, I just didn't want her to see me. I practically ran to Griffin's house.

*at Griffin’s*
I knocked on Griffin’s door, thank God he opened it. Considering it was a school night. He is usually in bed. I was still crying, I wasn't sure if I tell him or not.

“Em, It’s midnight. What the- did you run here?”
“Uh, yeah. Uh we need to talk.”  I said, in a shaky voice. He turned on the porchlight, noticing that I was still crying and I'm pretty sure the red mark on my face.

“Oh my god, are you alright? come in."
“Thanks.” I sat on his couch, attempting to wrap my head around what just happened.
“what happened?"
“Uh,  let’s see, I still didn’t tell me dad that I know who her lover is. She brought up the fact that I was adopted, she even said she was..”
“She was what?”
“Moving in with him, and he proposed.” I mumbled the word proposed. I couldn’t care less about her moving in with him.
“What did you say?”
“He proposed.”
"How did you get that mark on your face?"
"She said, dad never makes time for her, he's always busy with work or with me. I said, what the hell does that have to do with anything? then she said, don't you dare talk back to me like that. and slapped me."
"What did your dad do?"
"He told her never to touch me like that again. They were still arguing when I came here." There was a long silence. Until Griffin spoke.

“Em,”
“Yeah.”
“Can you tell me what the nightmare was about?”
“What one?”
“The one, the day before everything happened.”
“Oh, um yeah.  In the dream, I woke up feeling sore, and unable to move. I felt pain throughout my body. I could feel him inside me, I tried to move my arms but failed. He noticed me awake and tightened his grip, I told him to stop, even though I was feeling groggy. He didn’t stop, he started cutting me with a knife.” I finished.
“Did that actually happen? Did Penn actually do that?” I nodded,
“Yeah, he did” He held me in his arms, just so I would feel secure. That’s what I love about him. Always makes me feel safe.

The next morning, I got up earlier than Griffin, and decided to make breakfast; and let him sleep in since I kept him up nearly all night. I cooked bacon, eggs, and toast. After Griffin got up and showered, we ate breakfast. He’s been insisting that we both eat together, to make sure I eat and don’t lie to him.

“We got to go.” I said as we grabbed our stuff and left. Once we got to school, Griffin realized that he left something at his house. And left to go get it. A few minutes later, I got a text from Griffin saying that something came up. The bell rang, just before I reached my classroom, I got a text saying to go outside. I figured it was Griffin, and went anyway.

I walked out by the back of the school, where there were no cameras, or windows. Something felt off. I looked around, and saw nothing. I turned back around, and 5 guys came out of nowhere. They all started hitting me everywhere but the face every now and then. I was on the ground and tried to reach my knife, I know no weapons allowed at school, but I never break rule 9. I soon became unconscious.

When I came to, I was at NCIS, on the couch in the director’s office. Everybody was there, even Griffin.

“W-what happened?” I asked, attempting to sit up. I felt someone push me back down, I looked up seeing ducky.
“It looks like you were beaten.” Ducky says.
“Yeah, I feel like it too.” trying to lighten the mood.
“Can you tell us what the last thing you remember was?” Ziva asked.
“Griffin left to get something from his house, then text me, saying that something came up, then I got a text from some unknown number, saying to go outside, I thought Griffin was just playing a prank, so I went. I didn’t see anything, or anyone. So I turned around looking for anyone, When I turned back 5 guys surrounded me, and started beating me. Then I woke up here.”
“Did you see their faces?” DiNozzo asked.
“No, they were wearing masks, and dressed in all black. It all happened so fast, I wouldn’t even be able to tell you their estimated height, and weight.”
“Yeah, uh, I didn’t send the text saying ‘go outside’”. Griffin said.
“We figured that. But if you didn’t, then who did?” That was the real question. And I wasn’t really looking for the answer.
