"I'm saying we need a new plan because next time, one of us is gonna be too hurt to heal" I said.
"I get it. We can't save Jackson" Scott said.
"We can't seem to kill him. Either" Derek said. "I've seen a lot of things, Scott. But I've never seen anything like this. Every new moon's just gonna make him stronger"
"But how do we stop him?" I asked.
"I don't know. I don't even know if we can" My brother answered.
"Yeah, maybe we should just let the argents handle it" Scott suggested.
"I'm the one who turned him. It's my fault" Derek said.
"Yeah, but you didn't turn him into this" Scott reminded. "I mean, this happened because of something in his past, right?"
"That's a legend in a book. It's not that simple" Derek replied.
"What do you mean? What are you not telling me?"
"Why do you think I'm always keeping something from you?"
"Because you always are keeping something from me"
"Well, maybe I do it to protect you"
"Doesn't being part of your pack mean no more secrets?"
Derek sighed. "Go home, Scott. Sleep. Heal. Make sure your friends are safe. Cause the full moon's coming. And with the way things are going, I've got a feeling it's gonna be a rough one"

"Shay!" Someone shouted my name just as I was about to leave the warehouse.
"Isaac?" I said with a sigh. "What's up?"
"I need your help. The full moon is coming tonight and I need you to help me keep under control" he explained.
I laughed. "Are you kidding? Aren't you supposed to hate me?"
"I never hated you" he stated. "Do you hate me?"
"I don't hate you" I said, pausing. "That much"
"Well, there we go. There's some development. Now can you help me or not?"
"Oh, Isaac. I need to go to school. I'm sure Derek will help you though" I shrugged.
"But I want you to help me"
"Why?"
"Well, don't tell him this but you're a better trainer"
I smiled. "Well, I guess I have to live up to my expectations then"
"Thank you" he returned the smile.
"Okay, so first things first, you need to find an anchor" I said, dumping my school bag on the ground.
"What's an anchor?"
"Something that can pull you back. Something that makes you human. It could be a person, an emotion, a place - anything" I explained.
"What's yours?"
"Love. But it doesn't have to be an emotion. For example, Scott's anchor is Allison" I said. "So once you find your anchor, you can use it to get under control"
"Okay, so how do I find my anchor?"
"Well first I've got to get your pulse raised"
"Oh?" He raised his eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes. "Not like that"
"So once you get my pulse raised and I start to shift, I have to find my anchor"
