Chapter 9: Ginny's Birthday

*Time has passed!*

Ginny's P.O.V.

I woke up. I found Harry looking at me. "Morning Birthday Girl" Harry whispered. 'OMG!' I thought to myself 'I forgot my birthday!' I smiled at Harry and asked "What did you get me?" "You'll find out at breakfast!" "Oh... Come on Harry please" I begged while pulling a cute face. "You look cute like that!" Harry exclaimed. "Aren't I always cute?" I questioned. "Well yeah but mostly you're beautiful." Harry said smiling. He pulled me towards him and kissed me. It felt like the kiss Harry and I had on his 17th birthday. "One hint please" I pleaded. "Not one" Harry said, smirking. "Hmph well I gave you a hint on your birthday." "Oh well, fine... It's a jewelry and there's something else you'll definitely like" Harry said reluctantly and then he left the room. 'Jewelry' I thought 'Jewlery... I imagined necklaces, bracelets... Oh a ring!' I imagined Harry proposing to me but I brushed that thought away. Harry wasn't going to marry me any time soon. We only got back together for around a few months. Then I remembered Harry telling me about something else. What was the other present? I got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast.

After we ate breakfast they all put their presents on the table. Harry's one was the smallest but there was another package attached to it. I grabbed one present from the table and started to unwrap it. The first one was one from Hermione who had bought me a lovely handbag. Ron, George, Percy and Charlie gave me a photo album with all photos of me and my family. Mum and Dad got me the traditional golden watch you got on your 17th birthday. The last one was Harry's or Bill's. I tore open both presents at the same time. One was a Firebolt exactly like Harry's and the other was a beautiful necklace. "Which one of you gave me the Firebolt?" I questioned. I looked at Harry and said "You gave me the necklace right." Harry nodded. I turned to Bill. "That means you got me the Firebolt!" "Well Harry and I both did. We split the money half and half. Fleur lended some money as well" Bill explained. "Thank You so much!" I exclaimed "You really didn't have to get me this!" "Well you're 17 and you deserve something." That was Bill. I smiled and then I saw Harry mouthing 'Your room after breakfast." I nodded.

Harry's P.O.V.

I waited for Ginny in her room. Well I think I'll call it our room now. Ginny entered and sat down. She grabbed my hand and said "Why did you buy the Firebolt for me? You didn't have to spend that much money on me." "Well first of all you're my girlfriend and 2 you're going to be Co-captain for the Quidditch Team." "What!" Ginny exclaimed "Why didn't you tell me?" "I only got the letter this morning" I said "Here read it." I handed her the letter bearing the Hogwarts Crest. Ginny took it and opened it quickly.

Dear Mr Potter,

I am pleased to inform you that you and Miss Weasley are going to be the Gryffindor Quidditch Captains for this year. Also you and Miss Granger will be Head Boy and Head Girl and Miss Weasley and Mr Weasley will be Prefects. I have sent Miss Granger a letter regarding this. Now I have known for quite a while so I know that you have an ambition to become an Auror. Kingsley will be sending you a letter regarding becoming an Auror. If you choose to Auror please send an owl back with your word. Do not worry I have backups for the Quidditch Captain and Head Boy if you decide to not come back to Hogwarts.

Ginny looked at me and asked "Are you going back to Hogwarts?" "I'm not sure" I replied "I'm still deciding." "Can I read the letter from Kingsley?" Ginny questioned. "Yeah, here" I said, handing her another letter wearing the Ministry of Magic logo.

Dear Mr Potter,

I have heard from Minerva McGonagall that it is your ambition to become an Auror. I will happily allow you to start training for an Auror even though you do not have your NEWTS. Although you will have to do some studying for your training since you need to pass a simple test first. If you agree, send an owl back and your books will arrive in a few days' time.

"Harry, I don't mind whichever path you choose," Ginny said sweetly. "You sure?" "Yes. Although I would love it if you returned to Hogwarts, if you want to become an Auror follow your dreams Harry" Ginny said. "I-I'll think about it," Harry replied, stowing the letters away. "Follow your dreams Harry. I'll be happy for you in any way."
