Cursed Fate

Chapter four

It was dark and Zelda couldn't move. Suddenly before her huge flames burst from the ground. The image of a castle was in the middle of those flames. Zelda started to run but she got nowhere. Her castle is burning, now she can hear people screaming. Her head is filled with a loud ringing, causing her to fall to her knees. Suddenly she was weak and bloody. As her heavy eyes looked up she saw him, Xavier. He was towering over her with a terrifying face. Zelda tried to scream, she screamed for help, for Link! Nothing happened. Words would not escape her lips. Xavier said nothing as he raised a sword. Zelda was going to be killed. To sword was brought down-

"Zelda!!" Link was holding The Princess by her shoulders and shaking her. Zelda's eyes shot open as a scream escaped her lips.

"Shh, Zel! It's okay, it's me, Link!" Zelda was thrashing around, once her eyes landed on him she stopped. Her arms flew around him and she started to sob. Link pulled her into his lap and held her, rocking gently.

"You're okay... It was only a dream..." Link could feel her grip tighten on him.

"What happened, Zelda?" Link could see the horror stained into her face.

"X-Xavier... H-He tried to kill me! The castle was in flames! I-I tried screaming but no one heard me... And you weren't there... You didn't hear me scream..." Her breath was quick, she was panicking.

"Zelda, look at me..." Link cupped her face and brought it up to look at him, "I'm here... I'm right here, and no matter what I will always hear you. The castle is fine okay? Xavier isn't here... I'll protect you..." His face was like a breath of fresh air, once Zelda took the time to recognize and see his face. Her arms flew around him and she clung to him like a lost and scared child. Link cradled her, rubbing her back and helping her calm down.

"Sorry about that..." Zelda was finally back in reality, calm and okay.

"You don't have to apologize, Zel, there is a lot of stress on you and I can understand that." Link held her, cradled her.

"You're going to be alr-" There was a knock on the door. Link let Zelda go so she could answer the door. To no shock at all, it was Xavier.

"Good morning, my Princess!" Link stood from the bed, he was unseen but he almost wished he could be seen.

"Good morning..." Zelda stood tall, you can hear the distaste in her voice. Xavier was trying to push himself inside so Link decided to hide. Finally he got what he wanted, Xavier was in her room and he smiled while he looked around.

"Such a cozy room, Princess..." Zelda kept a good distance away from him.

"Well I would hope so, it shouldn't be a cage." Xavier smirked, looking around once more,

"I suppose you're right." Zelda shot him a look.

"You suppose? What are you implying? That I'm a pet?" Xavier chuckled and looked at her, slowly moving forward.

"Aren't you though? Sure, your a Princess and all but once you are tied down, controlled, then you're just a pet, an... Object, if you will." That didn't go well with Link. He was ready to burst out from his hiding place but he stopped.

"Excuse me? An object? I am the Princess of Hyrule! If you dare call me anything other than your Highness, I will have you removed from this kingdom..."

"Oh really? And who would you marry? Hmm? That so called knight that follows your every move?" Suddenly Xavier had his hands on her, around her waist and Zelda froze, her eyes wide.

"He's trying to break us up... He's getting in my way! Don't you see that...?" His hand stroked her cheek as he leaned in. Zelda quickly pushed him away.

"You're a maniac!" Then she was on the ground. Her face stung. He slapped her, he hit her. Zelda's heart raced and she became panicked when he suddenly started to get over top of her.

"You will obey me... And after this..." He licked his lips sending chills through Zelda's body, "You won't be able to resist..." Zelda quickly shut her eyes tightly but they shot open when she heard him choke. Link was now standing over her, fists clenched. His breathing was heavy as he stared at Xavier who was across the room.

"Don't you DARE touch the Princess again!" Xavier slowly stood, he went to step forward but Link beat him to it, walking toward him in a fierce rage.

"Touch me and I'll have you killed!" Xavier backed away each time he got close.

"Try me..." Link's face was scary, Xavier had no choice but to leave with a scowl on his face,

"Next time... Pet." The door slammed shut as Link took a breath, looking to Zelda that had shock printed on her face. Link didn't waste a second to get to her side.

"He's gone..." Zelda was quickly back in his grip, she started to shake.

"I got you... He won't hurt as long as I'm here... I promise..." Link held her and they stayed together that day.
