"OH MY GOSH, MY MOM IS AWAKE!" " WHEN CAN I SEE HER?!"? I asked. "You can see her now if you want," Mitch says in a calm voice. "OF COURSE I WANT TO SEE HER!!" I replied. Mitch pushed me in a wheelchair to go and see my Mom in the ICU on the third floor. We stepped in the elevator and I pressed the number three on the keypad. I can't help being excited, but it's going to be weird seeing her like that.

Even though she is breathing on her own and doing the commands the doctors are asking her to do, we're nowhere close to being out of the woods. We walked into her room and I just held her hand. " I love you, Mum..." I said to her.
