Most of you probably heard of phrases like AMERICAN DREAM or GREENER PASTURES from incoming immigrants.
Here it is, my dad won US green card lottery thats how our family found itself in this beautiful city named Hopetown which is one of newyork upstates just less than 19miles from newyork city,its a good place to raise a family.
My dad thought would be better to move in a smaller city or town than to a big city like newyork,chicago or los angeles due to highcost of living standards and challenges on raising teenegers in such a volatile environment.
My dad is doctor got employed in hopetown hospital which is the biggest hospital in the city.
We had wonderful neighbours welcoming us just like in american movies where you get a knock at your door and on opening you see a smiling family with a basket of cookies welcoming you to their humble peaceful neighbourhood.
we are Karisa's, a black african family from Kenya,eastern africa and seems black are minority race here coz acccording to statistics majority are of white race here in hopetown.
We appreciated the warmth reception from our neighbours who were all white especially the Miller's who seemed very pleased and excited on having us as their new neighbours and too kind to show us around.
Lots of things rang in my mind.
New school,
New friends/people,
New climate,
New...Just new everything!!
Am nervous of everything new happening to me.
