Lauren and I have been back at Joey's old place a few days now. We haven't spoken a lot except when she asked me where to put boxes and shit, since we are finally moving out to LA with Joey and the rest of the gang. I'm not allowed to do a lot of heavy lifting and shit since I had just gave birth but Lauren was fine with doing all of it. We didn't have much since we were only supposed to be here for another month or so. But because of the situation, we thought it be best to leave as early as we could. As Lauren packed the last of the boxes into the U-Hal, I looked at the house one last time, holding onto the necklace I have been wearing with my baby's ashes in it. Lauren also had one and I had one for Joey and an extra for Joe, just in case he wanted it. I was going to have to find a way to tell him sooner or later. "You ready Cass?" Lauren asked as she came over to me.
"Yeah. I think i'm ready." I smiled. We got into the cab of the truck and Lauren drove. We drive for about 3 hours until we decided we should stop and get some food. We stopped at this little cafe and ordered some burgers, fries and a milkshake each. We chatted about how excited we were to finally see the gang again. I was actually happy about the move. This is has been the first time in a week, that I have been somewhat happy. A change is all I think I needed but, I was still dreading about the fact I was going to have to tell everyone what happened.
"Finally!" Exclaimed Lauren waking me up from my nap. "Here we are." She said as pulled up in front a giant house. It was big considering it was housing quite a few people. I saw Joey come outside and smile. We both greeted him.
"So, everyone is here to welcome you guys home." He then looked at me. "I know you are planning on telling everyone what happened. Walker and Rosenthal are here." He said looking at me concerned.
"It's okay. It's time everyone knew what has been happening." He nodded and we walked inside and were greeted by everyone.
"Cass?" I turned to see a teary eyed Brian Rosenthal make his was toward me. He hugged me tight and said, "I am sooooooooooooo sorry for how I've been acting towards you. I never realized how much I missed you when we moved and you didn't. Can you ever forgive me? I don't expect you to forgive me for going behind your back with Joe, but I really want my best friend back." I could see the tears starting to come down his face. I smiled a sad smile at him.
"Of course, Brian. I forgive you. I even forgive the whole Joe thing too." And hugged him tightly. After a while of everyone hugging and everything Joe came up to me.
"Hey, look, I'm sorry for everything. I... I was a real Jerk ass." He said. I just hugged him and started to cry. "Hey, whats wrong?" He said holding me at arms length.
"There's.... there's something I have to tell you. Its what I was trying to tell you and Brian when I caught you two together." He looked at me concerned. I walked away and made my way towards the front of the room. Lauren and Joey noticed and came to stand beside me. I could already see Jamie's eyes starting to tear up. "Hey, everyone. So, I thought I would tell the truth about why Lauren and I didn't come right away. You see... I was on travel restrictions by the doctor because I was pregnant." You could hear the collective gasps. I noticed Joe and Brian's faces fill with shock. "And, we weren't supposed to be arriving here for at least another 3 to 4 weeks, but we decided to come early because my water had broke a few days after everyone had left." I was starting to tear up. "I had given birth to a baby boy and his name was Bellamy Finn."
"Wait. What do you mean was?" Holden asked. I looked down and let the tears fall. When I looked back up I could see people were starting to get where I was heading.
"He... he passed away about and hour 2 after he was born. The corner said his lungs had collapsed." I held onto the necklace. Everyone then decided to come and hug me as I cried. The last two to come up were Walker and Rosenthal. It looks like they had been crying as well.
"Was... was he mine?" Joe asked. All I could do was nod. They both embraced me in a hug as we stayed like that for a long time. After a while I decided I was going to go for a walk. I gave the necklace with Bellamy's ashes in it and he put it on immediately. After that I headed out. After a few minutes of walking I felt a hand on shoulder. I turned around to see A.J. Holmes standing there.
"Hey." I said wiping my face.
"Hey, I'm sorry about all that. I know how hard it is to get over the loss of a child." He looked down for a moment then looked back at me. He must've seen the confusion on my face because then he said, "A couple years ago, my ex girlfriend and I were expecting a baby as well, only she miscarried in the first trimester. It was so hard on her she left me and moved back in with her parents." I gave him a hug. We just stood there hugging each other for awhile until he offered to buy us ice cream. I accepted.
(A/N: I think the story will probably be coming to an end here in maybe another chapter. Thank you all for reading!)
