A couple of weeks went by and Victor used any excuse to spend time with the young prince. They did a number of fun activities that forced Yuri out of the castle which caused him a little stress. He was fearful that the other prince would discover his power and think that he was a freak of nature. Yuri had almost slipped up a couple of times accidently freezing several things but he was able to play it off as weird accuracies. Now there was only one week until the ball and everyone was working hard to have everything ready in time.

Early one morning in Victor's room, he and Yurio were discussing what they had learned about the gem. Yurio was laying on the large bed with his eyes closed that was in the of the room, while Victor was pacing murmuring to himself.

"So Yurio, I think I figured something out." Said Victor as he stopped mid-pace.

"Oh, you think so?" Said Yurio as he kept his eyes closed and laying on the bed.

"I think that Prince Yuri is the key to finding the gem." Victor replied with a smiled moving to stand closer to the bed.

"Why do you say that?" Asked Yurio as he opened one eye to look at Victor.

"Because several times now there has been strange incidents while we were together. He doesn't think that I noticed but several times there will be things that are randomly frozen." Said Victor now moving to sit next too Yurio.

"Is that so?" Replied Yuri who was now sitting-up and looking at Victor.

"Yeah, I think that he must have it and not know how to control it well. Now all I have to do is figure out were he is keeping." Answered Victor.

"If he does have it are you going to able to take it from him?" Asked Yurio with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course, why are you even asking?" Asked Victor with a confused looked his on his face.

"I ask because you seem quite attached to the Prince. And he seem quite taken with you!" Yurio raised his voice a little as he answered the question.

"I... I... don't know what you mean." said Victor looking down at his lap, with a sad look on his face. He wouldn't admit it to Yurio but he was starting to have feeling for the prince. He didn't know if he could hurt him if it ever came to that.

"Sure you don't." Said Yurio.

The two of them talked for a few more minutes about how to get the gem from prince Yuri once they discovered were he was keeping it. Once they finished their strategy plan Victor decided to ask Yuri to accompany him on a picnic to give Yurio a chance to look through his room. So Victor and Yurio both left Victor's room and made their way towards Yuri's room. Once they got closer to the room Yurio stayed behind a little as not to be noticed.

At Yuri's door Victor took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He heard a rustle behind the door and something that sounded like ouch but he couldn't be sure. As Victor lendover to put his ear to the door he heard the click of it being open. Yuri opened the door slightly popping his head out.

"Oh, Victor can I help you with something?" He said with a shy smile.

"Not really. I was just wondering if you would be me the honor of joining me for a picnic." Victor said with a bow and bright smile.

"Umm... I don't know." Yuri's eyes dropped to the floor. He didn't know if he could keep his secret from Victor for much longer. "Sure, why not."

"Perfect! Let go get everything ready." Victor pulled Yuri out of his room barely giving him enough time to close the door behind him. He dragged him towards the kitchen with gusto. At the same time Yurio slipped out from where he was hiding and moved into Yuri's room.

In Yuri's room Yurio began looking though the prince's things trying to place everything exactly where he found it. He didn't want the prince noticing thing had been moved. Yurio looked through everything and couldn't find anything that looked like it could be a gem that it could control ice and snow. He was looking for about an hour when he was ready to give up his search when he came a crossed the prince's journal. The book was a simple pale blue journal.

Yurio decide to read the journal to see if it had any useful information about this gem that Victor wanted so bad. He began skimming though looking for the key word gem, but what he discovered would change everything and he didn't know how to tell Victor.

While Yurio was searching Victor and Yuri had gone to the kitchen and gather a bunch of food for their picnic. They packed everything into a basket that the servants had given them. After the kitchen they walked through the castle heading to the garden to find a quite place to eat. They walked in silence mostly but it wasn't and awkward or uncomfortable.

Once they where in the garden, Yuri finally spoke up. "This way, I know a great place." he lead Victor deep into the garden to where a gazebo that had blue rose wrap around it was.

"This is so beautiful." Said Victor with wide eyes taking in the surroundings.

"Yeah, since I don't leave the castle very often I know all the good place to have alone time." Yuri noted with a sad smile.

"You've spent a lot of time alone, haven't you?" Asked Victor, looking at Yuri who looked like he was thinking of something sad.

"Yeah... I'm not good with people." Replied Yuri trying to show a happier smile. The two men moved to sit at the table that was in the gazebo. The picnic contained a lot of small talk but the two of them seem to really enjoy each other company.

"So, are you excited for the ball?" Asked Victor.

"Umm. I wasn't before but now I am." Replied Yuri.

"What changed your mind?" Victor raised his eyebrow.

"Well... If I'm honest... It was you." said Yuri so quiet that Victor almost didn't hear him. In that moment Victor realized that this prince was falling in love with him. And he was amazed when he realized the same way for him.
