Ice prince: A Yuri on ice fan fiction

Chapter 12: The beginning of the end.

Victor yelled for all hands on deck and to start heading in a southern direction. The information that the crew had gathered stated that Chris's ship was hiding in the southern most region of the island. Once the ship was under way Otabek moved from standing in the middle of ship to the edge of the ship looking out at the water. The rise and fall of the water was somehow calming, this allowed Otabek's mind to drift back into his memories. He thought of a simpler time when he young and had not a care in the world. Most of his memories had one central theme Yura, and all the time that they spent together. He thought of all the happy times, all the times they played, he remember Yura smile. But he did want to save the prince as well, he was his friend. His thoughts keep spinning around in circles until once memory came to mind. How the prince became his friend.

It was shortly after Otabek entered the palace, he was wandering around the garden. He wandered deeper following a path lined with blue roses until he came upon gazebo. Taking a closer look he saw a boy a few years older then him sitting on a bench reading a book. After a moment he realized who it was, it was prince Yuri. Otabek started to turn and walk away when he felt eyes on him.

"You can stay. I promise I don't bite." Yuri voice was calm and Otabek could have sworn that was a hint of giggle in his voice. Otabek turned back around and started walking towards the gazebo, joining the prince. 

"Your highness, what are you reading?" Otabek asked while trying to read the cover. 

"Cinderella... Its an interesting story." Yuri replied closing his book. "And please call me Yuri. And your Otabek a member of the guard." 

"Yes I am, your... I mean Yuri." When Otabek said his name a sad look crossed his face. That Yuri noticed. 

"What's wrong?" Asked Yuri.

"Nothing." Otabek answered with a fake smile. "It's just you share a name with a friend of mine from when I was little. He went missing."

"Oh... I'm so sorry. I hope you find him." Yuri said with a smile that showed that he meant what he said.

"Thank you." Otabek smiled for real this time. 

"I hope we can be friends... I don't have very many." Said Yuri while he was looking down at his book.

"Well then we're friends. Treat me well." Otabek stuck out his hand in Yuri direction. Yuri took it and shook it. For the first time in years Otabek felt like he had a friend and he was happy. They sat there and talked for hours.

"Otabek...Otabek...OTABEK!" Victor voice pulled Otabek out of his memory. He shook his head to clear up the rest of his thoughts.

"Sorry I was lost in thought." Said Otabek finally look at Victor. 

"It's fine. But we're here." Victor replied while pointing in the of another ship. "That's the ship. If I was Chris I would keep them below deck. My crew and I will distract Chris's crew. You get Yuri and get him to safety." 

"Okay. And just so you know Yuri  can fight, I trained him myself." Said Otabek. 

"What?" Victor look surprised. When he thought of Yuri, he didn't picture a fighter.

"Well I was he personal guard for a while and he asked if I could teach him how to fight. It helped him gain a handle on his powers, learning about control and what not." Said Otabek with a shrug. "So, no need to worry so much about him."

The two men stood in silence as the ship started to make it's way towards the other pirate ship. BOOM! Something hit the side of Victor ship and then another BOOM. It took Otabek a minute to realized that they had just been hit with cannonballs. The crew started running around getting ready for battle moving cannons and getting swords passed out. The two ships exchanged fire for 10 minutes. Victor's ship keep moving forward until it was right up next to Chris's ship. Victor's crew made their way onto the other ship and a huge fight broke out. Otabek started heading towards latch that lead to below deck when J.J. stood right in his path.

"Your the one who took Yura." Otabek said while raising his sword.

"Yura? Oh you mean Yuri." He replied bringing his sword to meet Otabek's. After a moment they started to fight. Swords colliding over and over again. 

Meanwhile below deck Yuri and Yurio heard the ruckus of the battle. Yuri stood up and walked over to door keeping them imprisoned and tried to see what was going on. Yurio followed a step behind him.

 "I think their fighting someone up there. It be our only chance to escape." Said Yuri still looking towards the stairs. 

"I agree but how?" Said Yurio who's attention was on the door in front of them.

"Like this." Said Yuri as his hand began to glow a faint light blue and the door began to freeze. Once the door was completely frozen Yuri kick it and it fell hitting the ground hard. The two of them wait a few minutes to see if anyone would come to what the noise was but they didn't. It took less then 2 minutes for the two Yuris to make on to the main deck and too see the chaos going on. Fights going on everywhere, Yurio sees Otabek fight with J.J. and runs to help him leaving Yuri alone in the middle of the battle. 

Yuri looked around the deck, he saw a lot of people that he didn't recognized then he saw him, Victor. He was fighting two people, and when he saw Yuri out of the corner eye and relief flashed on his face. Victor began to pushed his way through the crowd in the direction of Yuri and Yuri started towards the direction of Victor. They were almost within reach of each other when someone grab Yuri from behind and held a knife to his throat. Victor stopped moving, and looked directly at Chris who had Yuri. 

"Hey there Victor. Let's talk." Said Chris with a wickedly evil smile.
