Wiping off the sweat dripping down my forehead, I stand up hearing a voice.
     " Thank you (Y/N). I think that will be all for the week."
     " It's no problem Mr. Olkin." I respond.
     " (Y/N), you know you call me Olkin. No need to be professional. Anyways, I can't thank you enough."
     " Again, It's no problem. I'm going to go ahead and pack up", I say walking the the front of the fence.
Ever since I was little, I did little things to help around the village. I mainly helped Claree and Lasli plus occasionally Olkin. It was my only way of keeping me busy. Grandma always says it's because I'm going to be the leader of our village some day, which doesn't make sense to me. I don't look like any of the people in Kakariko village nor are connected.
     I'm adopted, and one day I just popped up in front of grandmas front door. So technically I'm not really related to my grandma and sister, but I think of them like family is the best way to explain it
     Losing my train of thought, I hear a familiar voice.
     " (y/n), (Y/N)!", the voice said.
" Oh hi Paya". I responded. This is my sister I was talking about. Well, thinking about... haha...She is more on the shyer side and a little less then a year younger than me.
" Are you almost done? Grandma wants us back home for dinner." Paya stated.
" Yup I will be home very soon." I said finishing packing.
As Paya began to walk home, I grabbed my messenger bag and began to walk behind her. It seemed to me that Grandma wanted me home more and more. Not only that but she also started being more harsh on my combat skills. Which was weird considering I had never, nor will ever leave the village, but I guess it is always okay to be prepared. Not that I mind.
After a few minutes of walking, I had arrived home. Walking through the door I see grandma sitting at the table Paya was setting up.
" Ah, Welcome home dear. Why don't you go freshen up a bit, by time you're done, the food will be ready to eat", Impa welcomed.
" Yes Grandma" I say partially bowing," I promise to be fast" I smiled, heading towards the stairs.
At the top of the stairs, I head towards my half of the room. I open my chest in front of my bed and grabbed a fresh pair of cloths. As I finish changing, I grab a wash rag and clean the dirt of my hands and face. I put the rag down and head down stairs only to see a beautifully set table and even better smelling food.
" Mm, I didn't realize how hungry I was until now" , I say making Paya jump a little.
" Well I hope you will enjoy it. I made meaty rice balls especially for you", Paya responded with a smile.
Hearing what we were having for dinner, I excitedly sat down thanking Paya for her wonderful cooking skills. Paya has always been the more talented one but I didn't mind to much. We both have are fair share of good and bad qualities.
~~~~ Time Skip ~~~~
     With my full stomach, I crawl in bed looking forward to the night ahead. Working all day at Olkin's pumpkin patch always makes me tired. Feeling relief closing my eyes, I slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
     Hearing what sounded like a crying baby, I woke up. I was in a strange looking bed in a dark void.
     'I must be in a dream I thought to myself. I've always been aware of the dreams I've had.
     Wanting to find what was making that sound, I got up and out of the bed and started walking around in the black void. Nothing. I couldn't give up yet. I continue to look around of what felt like hours. That's when I started to hear rain too. The mystery baby kept on crying and the rain grew louder.
     ' I must be getting closer' I thought
     Of course I continued walking towards the growing sounds until- light!
Well sort of. There was a glowing square up ahead! Excited about the thought of possibly knowing what was making that noice, I ran.  And I kept on running until I was right in front of me. And it wasn't a glowing square. It was a moving picture.( keep in mind they probably never have heard of a video)
     It was the crying baby. The poor thing was getting soaked in the rain, not to mention that it was in a crummy basket. That woman carrying the basket with the baby must be the mother, a terrible mother. What was she doing? She was putting the baby down- on a some random porch?! Wait- this all seems so familiar. I continue to watch as I saw the woman hesitated to knock on the door.
     " (Y/N)...", said the woman smiled.
     "What?", I whispered." Is that my mom?" I asked myself.
     Still shocked by the news I literally just heard, I reached out to touch the woman
     "Mom?" I whispered.
     Then the the moving picture stopped, frozen in time.
     " No! No! What did it do?!" I asked my self freaking out.
     Then I heard a familiar chuckle.
     " Grandma?" I asked
     " Yes, child." She said walking to my side. Then she reached her hand out and touched what use to be the moving picture.
    " Grandma, don't- It's moving again!" I said in delight.
     " Yes dear, now watch." She said.
     So we did. The woman I assumed to be my mom continued to say what she was saying before.
     " I love you dear, really I do but your future has already been written and it doesn't include me. You will take great care of the world (Y/N). You and your Heart of Hope." The woman spoke before kissing me on my forehead. Then she knocked on the door and ran off. That's when a older sheikah woman came out and I caught a glimpse of my birthmark as she brought me in. Impa wasn't lying. it really is me, unless someone else base a hollowed heart on their shoulder.
     With my now new knowledge, I reached out my hand once again and paused the moving picture which I guess was more of a memory.
     I turned and faced Impa and asked," W-was that my mother?"
     She nodded. " You see (Y/N), your apart of the prophecy. A new addition to the great Triforce."
     " W-what???"
     "(Y/N)? (Y/N)."
     " It's time to wake up (Y/N)" Grandma said.
     "(Y/N) wake up!"
     Then I was awake. I could feel the sun on my face and Paya's face in front of mine. PAYA'S FACE IN FRONT OF MINE?!?!
     "AHH!" I screamed falling to the floor. "Paya! You scared me!"
     " Well good morning to you too sleepyhead! I have been trying to wake you up for almost five minutes now!" Paya said. "Now come on, grandma need you down stairs."
I suppose I shouldn't keep her waiting. I get up slowly, still taking in my dream and changed. What ever grandma needs me for sounds pretty important so I made sure to dress in the full sheikah apparel with my own spin. I've always hated the restrictions of belts so I never wore one but occasionally I'd use ribbon. So I guess today would have to be one of those days.
" my apologies grandma," I say rushing down the stairs, head facing the floor so I'd watch my step." Hope you weren't waiting for to longg..."
.....
"ooh... we have company... ahaha" I laughed nervously.
"Good morning dear, hope you had a refreshing sleep", she winked. "Now come, I have a some important things to tell you two."
-Woosh! Magical time skip. Grandma Impa tells the Ganon story. You know the one-
"That brings us here, a hundred years later. It's all apart of the prophecy except for you (Y/N). You're an new addition. When Link here, fell 100 years ago, the goddesses sought it best that he have assistance like he and Zelda did with the Champions. So they created the heart of hope and you, my dear, are the beholder." Impa softly smiled. " I care for you as my own child but unfortunately I can't help you no more with your quest. I only know so much. Now go, go and redeem the four Devine beast."
All of this was so much to take in, and overwhelming my thoughts. I'd had only just learned about how I came upon living with my Grandma and sister and now I'm expected to do so much. I looked down on the ground that I was sitting on, thoughts rushing through my brain trying to make sense. I could only imagine what I believe was Link, was going though. I just wish I knew more of what I was meant for...
"Link, (Y/N) has to pack so you be waiting for a bit, I bet you're hungry and didn't eat before staying in the inn last night. Why don't you find yourself something to eat." She said pulling out some rupees. "And while you're at it, see what you can do to help the villagers." Understanding the point, he grabbed the provided rupees and left.
"(Y/N).... I can only tell you so much, but I give you this advice. If we all waited around for a prophecy to tell us what to do, we'd die waiting. That's why we have to do it are selves. Take this time to learn about yourself. Now hurry, don' want to keep Link waiting do you?" (Tell me if you got the reference)
I figured she was right although I was still a little confused about what my next steps were. But I picked my self up, and packed then wished her goodbye.
I didn't bring much but I made sure to bring at least what was important. I had brought spare cloths, shoes, along with rupees, a water canister, and an old knife of my grandma's. I'd figured I'd pack light and worry about other things later although I'll have to remember to grab a aid kit from Dorian before leaving.
As I walked out and walked down the steps, I saw Paya working on something. I wasn't looking forward to leaving her, because we've been together our whole lives and now I'm leaving just like that. I'd best say my goodbyes and find Link. Unfortunately I can't let my feelings get in the way.
"Paya?" I ask as I watch her stand up from kneeling.
"Oh! Hello (Y/N). You frightened me a bit."
I smile as she laughs a little," I'm sure y-you heard... that- that" I choked. I was going to miss her terribly. Yeah sure, I was the older sister, but Paya acted like it.
Paya frowned at the sight of my tears beginning to form," I know... It's a shame you'll be gone for so long but hey, you'll do great and I? I'll be alright with Grandma.
"Thank you..." I whispered as we hugged. I couldn't be more thankful for her. "I'll miss you, but I have to prepare to leave now"
We both smiled and I clear away the tears and began looking for Link. He honestly didn't make it hard because I immediately saw him walking over to a near by pot with a surprising amount of ingredients. Curious of what he was possibly going to make with all that I walked over.
     "What can I make with goat butter?" Link muttered not seeing me.
    "Uh hello... what- what are doing?" I asked not able to be more awkward.
     "Cooking."
     Surprised my the simpleness of his response, I pushed." Got any idea of what your making?"
     "Wellll- no, I was just planning on throughing it all in and see what I get."
     "Well I hope not or else you not going to get anything besides dubious food," I say pulling over a stool and taking a sit.
      " Oh," obviously too embarrassed to put any more effort into his response.
     " Here, let me help."
     A little time had past but we had made enough food to feed us both. My sister may be the better cook but I can and that was all that was important.
     "So, what is it we have to do first?" I ask as we walked past the pond.
     "I-"
     "MY CUCCOS! MY PRECIOUS CUCCOS!" I heard Cuda shout.
     " woah, woah, woah. Calm down Cuda. Breath. What's the problem"
" M-MY-MY CUCCOS ARE G-GONE" Cuda sobbed
"Oh Cuda, they couldn't have gone far-"
"I'll find them", Link cut me off.
"OH REALLY?! I OWE YOU. MAKE SURE TO FIND ALL TEN OF THEM." Cuda said before running off.
"Well then... we better get started," I sighed.
Finally! 2206 words and 7+ hours spent redoing, writing, drawing, researching, and planning the next 2 full chapters and a brief idea off what I want the story to end. I hope you enjoyed and will continue to!
