Chapter 5: Out of the Blue

-Somewhere in a far off land… (no one’s POV)

“You called me, my lord?” a bird like creature stood in front of a huge throne. Its black wings folded up on its back, looking like a big feathery cape and its eyes blood red. It stood on two long legs, its arms rather long as well.

“Yes” a deep voice called from behind the throne. It was pitch black from behind the throne, no light shone through. It was a giant wall of darkness that no light can ever cut through. “He’s walking among the living again” the voice went straight to it, “I want him gone”

“And how may I ask you that?” the bird like creature questioned with a grin, “he’s dead already, you cannot kill what is already dead”

“No” the voice said. Two piercing red eyes broke through the darkness of behind the through, the pupils like black slits, “but that is what I’m counting you on, Dealer”

The bird like creature chuckled darkly, pressing its fingertips against each other, “how soon do you want him, my lord?”

“As soon as possible. Bring the girl as well if you need to.” The voice said, the eyes on the much smaller creature, “do whatever it takes”

The creature chuckled again and did a little excited gallop, “as you wish, my lord” he bowed deeply then spread his wings. With one great beat of his wings, it was off the ground. Like that, the chase began.

-Lyra-

Weeks passed since making that deal with Mason. He’s a really good spy if you give him a chance, because of him I found out a lot about Damian I couldn’t have on my own. I wished I could’ve just talked with Damian to find out, not have someone be a spy for me. I feel like a major stalker now.  But still, Mason has been really stalling whenever I ask him who Damian likes. He keeps on telling me something else or saying Damian wouldn’t tell him.

“I try, Lyra!” Mason had told me, “but Blondie wouldn’t crack a single clue!”

Man, one of these days I’m going to slap him. He may be a good actor when spying but his smile gives it all away when he reports. He knows who Damian likes, why the hell isn’t he telling me? Something clicked in my head and I gritted my teeth in anger. He knows when I know who Damian likes I wouldn’t need him anymore!

Damn it, Mason!

The bell rung to signal the end of the day and I quickly packed my stuff up. Then I stopped when I heard Damian and Jason talking behind me. I stiffened a bit but I kept my eyes focused on one of my open binders. I pretended I was reading the notes as I listened.

“You got any plans for the weekend, Day?” I heard Jason say. I glanced behind me, seeing the soccer player wiggle his eyebrows suggestively towards a group of girls. Not me of course.

Jason had a pair of black glasses and dark brown eyes. He was very smart, Asian smart of course. His hair was always cut short, showing his ears and forehead. He’s a great soccer player and artist as well. He’s hot but I think Taylor would be a better match with him than me. I’ll stay with Damian.

“Not now, Jason” Damian huffed annoyingly at Jason. He picked up his binders and started to walk slowly towards the door. My desk was closest to the door and my seat was on the left, that means Damian would be just inches away from me as he walks by.

Hearing him walk over I tensed a bit but kept my eyes glued on the papers in my binder.

“Aw come on, Day” Jason teased, “you never flirt with any of the girls! Are you sure you’re not gay?”
