“BASEMENT? What are you talking about?” asked Franklin. Then slowly Mr.Karl grabbed Franklin’s hand and they both excused themselves . Inside his house, Inspector Berlin made himself a tea and then the phone nearby him started to ring. Berlin received the phone. “ Yes, they are here. I assure they’ll be at your place by night. And after that you should stop calling me” told the Inspector. Then the call got disconnected. At the same time, outside the Inspector’s house Mr.Karl took a cigar from his pocket and started smoking. Frank rolled his eyes and sighed.“ Frank, I should tell you this. I THINK SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING US. Because don’t you find it odd that the people whom we are meeting, immediately talks about or gives information that we needed. And also, about the basement, I never knew its existence. I suspect that these people are being ordered by someone to spill all the truth to us and want us to get inside some trap.” Frank gave a thought for a minute. “ What you said is really making sense and also I am very eager to unleash the truth.”
“We ’ll do a thing, we will make a move and reach the home tonight. Today is thanksgiving day and it is hosted by the Father’s family. We will try to untangle every thing ”told Mr. Karl.Frank agreed. They entered into the house and told the Inspector that they were leaving. Later they both got a train and reached Mica Lauga. Then they came to the home in a taxi. There were people getting ready for the celebration, and the kids in the home were highly excited and they were all well-dressed. Mr.Karl told Franklin to sit in the hall and watch the program and told that he’ll be meeting him once the dinner gets over. As he was walking, A gentleman called Franklin. “ Could you please tell us where the hall is? ”he asked. “ Ahh.. Go straight and you’ll see St.Joseph block and go inside, second left inside the block and there is the hall ” replied Frank. That Gentleman thanked him and asked where he was going to. Franklin told that he was also going to the hall. The Gentleman asked Franklin to accompany to the hall. Franklin smiled and walked with him to the hall. “ I suppose you are here for the celebration. Are you a donor? We have specially invited all the donors today” Franklin asked as he was heading towards the hall. “ WE?”he asked. “ Yes. I am from this place. I grew up here till I was 18. Are you somehow connected to the Father?” asked Franklin. The gentleman smiled and said “ sort of.” Then they headed to the hall, and inside the hall Franklin was sitting at the back. Later the gentleman waved at him and asked him to come and sit in the front row and he provided a seat right next to him. Then the Gentleman introduced his wife who was sitting to his left. Franklin felt very comfortable with them. And later the programs got started. Children were laughing, enjoying, and the hall was filled with clapping sounds. Then, the Father came to the stage and thanked all the donors for their support . “ It is a very pleasant evening and I am very happy for having you all here. With the same joy and happiness, I would like to make an announcement. From this year we’re going to have a new administrative office for our schools and homes situated at many places. And I would like to announce the new administrative officer for this economical year , non other than my son MR.DAVIS ALPHONSE.” A spotlight hit on a man amidst the people. It was the Gentleman sitting next to Franklin. Franklin was surprised. Giving a smile to Franklin, he kissed his wife,and Mr.Davis went to the stage.“ THANK YOU , THANK YOU EVERYONE. Its been such a pleasure and I feel honoured to be here. I thank my Father for giving this opportunity and also a big responsibility. I also thank my wife MRS.JULIE DAVIS for supporting me and motivating me at all times.I love you, sweetheart. I just want to assure my donors, that their donated money is saved and will be used efficiently. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND PLEASE ENJOY YOUR DINNER”. Then the crowd was moving outside and the food was served. Franklin and Mr.Davis were sitting opposite to each other in the dinner. They both gave a smile to each other. Mr.Davis raised his glass and made a toast. Franklin also raised his glass. After dinner, Mr.Karl met Franklin.“ About the Basement, it’s very confidential. Only the Father and two other people know about it. I know where the basement is. It’s behind the St.David block. Now the time is 9.30pm, meet me there exactly at 12am. I really don’t know if it’s somekind of trap or something, but this is something big.” Mr.Davis quite a few meters away saw Mr.Karl and Franklin talking.
The time was 11.50 pm and Franklin was walking towards the St. David's block.
