Everything was fine. I was going to school on a normal day with Percy. We were walking hand-in-hand, having some chit-chat and looking at each others eyes like every other day. But it wasn't a perfect day.
When we got to school, that's when it started to get weird.
"-school." Percy laughed. "I told her. 'Mom, I'm too old for that!' And she smiled at me."
"You're such an idiot. She was just thinking that maybe you were such a seaweed brain that you might get hit by a car." I laughed at him.
"Well, I didn't agree because you wouldn't have anyone to go to school with."
"Seaweed Brain, you could always pick me up. But thanks for the thought anyways." I kissed him in the cheek.
It was our last day in school. Tomorrow would be our graduation day. But we'd never see that until a few more months.
"How about I walk you to class?" Percy asked.
"You always walk me to class." I told him, "You even memorized my schedule."
"Oh yeah. Come on then." We walked to my locker to get my books. Percy carried them, I swatted him in the head with my pencil case, he smiled broadly, I rolled my eyes, he dropped me off my class, gave me a kiss, then went to his class. That's what we always do in the morning. It seems silly, but what's not these days?
My first class was English. I'm dyslexic but I get the hang of it sometimes. But it really takes time. My teacher, Ms. Nelson here is a child of Athena. How would I know that? Simple. She's a famous journalist in Olympus. She also has the blond hair and the stormy eyes. She's fortunate enough to not have dyslexia so she is great at this more than me, which is somewhat annoying.
She doesn't know I'm a demigod but she helps me as much as she helps the whole class. She's the nicest teacher here.
But, unfortunately, she was affected of the peculiarity going on throughout the day. She went inside the room angrily.
"Class! Settle down!!" She shouted as she slammed the door behind her. A part of me wanted to take out my sword but a part of me stopped it. Relax, Annabeth. It's your last day in school. You'll go have a date with Percy in a few hours. Besides, what will the other students see if you pulled it out? A machine gun? A shot gun?
The quiet class looked at her intently. Ms. Nelson angrily looked at every single one of us. "My little daffodils. Get your homework." She said it in a very sinister way. I thought instantly that something was horribly wrong.
I placed my assignment on my desk. I took a glance at the other students. Atleast two of them didn't have an assignment. This is not going to be pretty.
Ms. Nelson strolled past me and I swear her eyes weren't grey. It was black. Pure black. When had this happened before?
She went to a girl with brown curly hair. She didn't have a thing on her desk. I think her name was... Penelope?
"Ms. Luther, where is your homework?" Ms. Nelson asked sternly.
"I-I don't h-have one." Penelope stuttered.
"Out." Ms. Nelson pointed at the door. Penelope quickly left. Ms. Nelson looked at a boy next. He also had brown hair. I don't know who he is but he's Penelope's cousin, I think. "What about you, Edward? Where's yours?"
"I left it at home..." Edward said quietly. He also was kicked out.
"If you'll excuse me." Ms. Nelson went outside. At first, I heard her scolding them. But then, I heard a girl scream. I was alarmed. Nobody seemed to notice anything. Why would Penelope scream? And why could nobody hear it? The Mist?
