Chapter 13 part 1

William's POV

The last thing I remember was the surroundings began to swivel and all was black. I woke up on a couch to see some heads hovering above my face but there were just blur.

" Wakey wakey, prince charming. Hope you have a good sleep." Who was that?
Sheesh...he didn't have to be sarcastic! I assumed it was a man's voice as it was deep. After some time, I managed to completely open my eyes and saw some people in the living room I didn't even recognise. However, I knew one of them is my wife, Lory.

" Don't you remember anything?" She asked acknowledging my confused face. I tried to remember and every memory of what happened flowed into my head all at once. Surely, none of them were sunshines and rainbows. I truly regret that pass 12 years...

" I'm sorry."

25 years ago...

" Come on,mate! Why are you still doing homework? It's lunch time. You can't eat those papers!" Carter said to one of his best friend.

"Alright,alright. I'm coming..." William grunted. He was the nerd one in the group. Then there were Carter who always lighten up the gang, Flora who always compete him in exams 'no matter how hard you study, I'll always thrash you' she used to quote and Loria the kindest but you wouldn't want to mess with her. They were always together that if they would live in the other world they could be the Marauders. Together they walked out of their common room.

They arrived at the dining hall of Ingenium School of the Peculiars to find all the tables were almost full. Finally, after aimlessly trying to find where to sit with trays full of food on their hands, they found it near the corner of the hall a bit far away from the other students. "Well, it's better than sitting on the floor!" Carter said eagerly before sprinted towards it. It was a miracle that his food was still safe in his tray.

"I know this is random but what did you think about the new headmaster? Don't you think he's a bit off?" Flora said couldn't stand the silence.

"What do you mean?" Loria asked. "Well, as far as I can tell he's always grumpy and looks like he would rather jump off a cliff than be here. But isn't that normal for a headmaster?" Said Carter.

"I don't think so. Mr Malloy wasn't like that." Loria said referring to the old headmaster who was too old to continue his career and just retired last week.

"No, I mean he looks like he's up to some-" Before Flora could finish her sentence there was a loud blast coming from the entrance. "What the bloody hell is that!" Carter exclaimed.

" Finally, I can quit pretending to be a bloody headmaster that care for his oh-so-lovely children." "He doesn't even pretending to be one,though" Carter said rolling his eyes. "Shut up will ya?" Flora. "Now, let me tell you a bad news. Today, every single of  your powers will be absorbed by me. Isn't that fun?" The new headmaster continued while putting his hands in the air like he was telling that they are going to have a vacation.

"Does he thinks that all of us are here? There are teachers too, outside. That old man definitely lost his marbles." William said just loud enough for the four of them to hear. But the old man might had the ability to read lips as he continued his speech with a sweet sickening voice" And don't worry, children. I already took care of your beloved teachers and friends out there..."

"Well,he's not as thick as you think he is,mate." Carter said shrugging.

"Now, let's just cut to the show..." Some of the students tried to stop him by using their powers but it was pointless as it didn't have any effect on him instead the powers were absorbed into his hands and flow to his body making him stronger. Not long after, half of the students were already weak and couldn't defend themselves. One by one dropped to their knees with a pale face. Perks of sitting at the back probably, the four of friends were still defending themselves and didn't make any move. From their observation, the headmaster or rather the villain was gaining powers from being attacked by their schoolmates.

"What are we gonna do? Obviously, we can't attack him with our powers!" Panic was evident in Loria's voice. "We still have fists and kicks, aren't we?" Carter spoke doing some moves with his fists. "That's imprudent! If we are that close to him he'll absorb our powers too!" Flora retorted angrily. "What if he doesn't see us?" William suggested smiling deviously. "What?!" The others asked in unison looking at him incredulously.
