My ear . . .
"Oh shoot!" I rubbed the split in my left ear. "My appointment was yesterday wasn't it?"
"Yeah."
"Oh god sorry; that must have cost you a lot of money."
"It's okay. If you want I can try to fix it."
"Okay after I read the letter, I looked up how they fix the rips and I don't think it's something you can do at home," I said.
"Worth a shot."
I shook my head.
"It's okay. The rip doesn't even affect me that much. And if you want, I can pay you back for missing the appointment."
"So you magically have four-hundred dollars up your sleeve?"
"Four-hundred . . . maybe not."
Taehyung smirked.
"You don't owe me anything. Consider it a gift."
"I always pay people back when they give me gifts."
"Wha-- everyone must have wanted to attend your birthday parties."
"So I'll pay you back," I said.
"Jungkookie, you don't have to. I wanted to do it because I cared about it. Kay?"
I smiled at him.
"Okay."
---------------
After a few more hours, Taehyung decided to freshen up, while I headed downstairs to eat something. I turned the corner into the kitchen to find my dad.
"Good morning, Kook."
"Mornin'"
I went to the pantry and looked for cereal. Then after a couple minutes of deciding which one Taehyung might like, I heard my appa on the phone.
"Yep. I will be there in fifteen minutes sir."
I took out cheerios. As I got out bowls, an idea ran through my head.
"APPA WAIT!"
"I'm still here Jungkook."
"Oh uh, sorry."
"No problem, just make it quick though."
I put down the cereal box.
"You're a police officer, right?"
"For four years, yeah. Kiddo how do you not know tha-- just what do you need?"
A smile came upon my face.

Later at Night
"Mmmh Jungkookie, come over to my place."
I smacked my head on my desk. I gripped my phone tight.
"For the last time Taehyung, we have a math exam AND a flexibility unit tomorrow. I have to study and stretch, okay?"
"Fine, but don't stay up the whole night. If I catch you, then you're in trouble."
"Yeah yeah, goodnight."
