a summer love.
waking in the morning,
white window blinds are welcoming.

banana pancakes in the kitchen,
music through a victrola.
vinyls scratching a bit as we listen.

strawberry afternoons,
and sunburns at the sea.
the salted water irritates
pretty eyes
but we would laugh the pain away with ease.

blankets on the beach,
accompanied by cold lattes
and t shirts that
hang a little off the collarbone.

oh wonder's self titled album
playing from a speaker.
you spin me around a few times,
you know i'm not much of a dancer.

sun sets as i rest,
my head in the crook of your neck.
memorizing the heart beat of
a summer love.
