Chapter 11 : Day Out

Aayesha’s POV

It was Saturday morning. Today there was no office but yet I thought of calling and clearing everything with Aashiq. The moment I took my phone it started ringing. Zaina was calling me. I know she cared a lot for me. Even yesterday when Aashiq had called me for dinner she was there for me. She was ready to say Aashiq that they had a girl’s night so the dinner offer could be easily put off. She was there to rescue me before I even called for her.

Now she has called to check on me as last night I slept early as soon as I came from dinner and couldn’t update about it to her. I was again in my thoughts that I forgot to answer the call. Once I was out of my trance I saw 5 missed calls and 10 messages on my screen. This girl! I was so zoned out I missed the calls. And Zaina had tensed up.

I dialed her number. “Hello! Aayesha! Aayesha. Can you hear me? Where are you girl? Why so late to pick up the phone?”, she started shouting in panic. Before I opened my mouth to answer she started bombarding another set of questions,” Say, something girl! You are making me panic. What’s wrong with you? Can I come over there?”. I remained silent still she calmed herself. Aayesha!! Aayesha.Answer me. Why are you silent again?”, this time she gave me some time to speak.

“Hi, Zaina. Wait. Don’t say anything. Listen to what I say and then you can say anything and everything you want “, I told her. “Yeah goon Aayesha”, and I felt that now she was listening. “I’m fine. I just overslept. Nothing serious. Everything is fine here”, with that I related all that happened yesterday.

“Aayesha, we can discuss this when we meet. But for now, don’t talk anything with Aashiq. I don’t think it is a good idea to say him the truth over the call. You better meet him in person and say him the truth”, she suggested to me. “But Zaina, I don’t want to drag it anymore, it is already late. I should have told him yesterday but we had a long day so I preferred not to, but today I have decided to”, I told her my decision.

“Fine Aayesha. You can, I will never stop you from that. That’s the right decision, but not today “, she was firm in her suggestion. “hmm...ok”, before I could finish she started again. “Aayesha gets ready in an hour, we will be there to collect you”, “What? Where? Who? Be clear my dear shaitaan! You are just confusing me more”, I answered her.

“Aayesha! It’s the weekend. Imran has planned for a day out and he has called both of us. Don’t make any excuses. You have an hour. Get your lazy ass off the bed and get ready. I’m not getting a no from you. Got it?”, “Hmm.Zaina”.“Done, you are coming. Bye. Get ready “, with that she hung up on the girl. This girl is really uncontrollable. She does anything for my happiness. Hate her for being so good.  With that, I got myself up from the bed and started getting ready.

An hour flew so fast and there they were my funny bunnies whining and waving from the car. As soon I got into the car Zaina crashed me into a bear hug. “Missed you baby!!!!”, there she was with a full bang. I hugged her back “Missed you too baby!!”, “Ladies, don’t forget the handsome man over here”, Imran cheered up only to earn a smack on his head from me. “Enough is enough man, don’t daydream” and we all started laughing.

In a couple of minutes, we reached the park. It was not so busy or crowded as expected. Luckily, it wasn’t much sunny too so we were able to enjoy ourselves. Children were playing here and there, families and friends were having their time and the day started.

Not very soon we started talking, a familiar figure approached us. Aashiq? Before I could recognize him he was there straight in front of me with his never-ending smile. “Hi, all! Hope I haven’t invaded your privacy”, he was trying his best to sound cool and normal. “Of course not! We will be happy to have you “, I welcomed him. “All credits to one and only Imran. You should be thanking me Aashiq for inviting you. These girls are really very selfish”, he came in. Like that he again got a shot in his arm again.

Then we all had a good time together. We all four discussed so many things. We did share a few of our childhood memories too. Zaina has brought some sandwiches and Imran had brought few drinks too. SurprisinglyAashiq has brought few fruits too. I was the one there with nothing and I complained Zaina for not informing me properly. We laid a mat and all sat together to have our meal. It was more of a brunch than breakfast. I was starving and I really needed that.

It indeed felt good. Eating together as a family and in an open space breathing the fresh air. It was like we had a small picnic in that park just like small kids. The fresh air did have some magic in it which soothed our minds and refreshed our souls.

 After some time, Ashiq and Imran stood up walk away having their men chats, I took the time to talk to Zaina. I told her that it was the time for both of us to say the truth to both of them. Zaina unwillingly accepted. I tried my best in pushing her to say her feelings to Imran, as it was high time also I wanted both my friends to start a new life. Zaina stood and walked near Imran who was now facing the opposite side. But still, she was hesitant.

I made my mind and walked to Aashiq as I wanted to say him the truth too. It was time. As soon as I approached he welcomed me and I excused both of us leaving Imran and Zain alone. “Yes, Aayesha, you want something? “, with that Aashiq and I left the place. I prepared myself to say him all the truth. If it’s not today, then never.
