Me and bryce both got towels and went and sat on the couch. i felt my phone buzz and saw bag i had 20 messages from nick.

i showed bryce the texts. he grabbed my phone and took it off of me.

b- you're seeing him today jenna. you can't avoid it forever
j- i know, i'm just scared. he kissed another girl bryce
b- correction. she kissed him.
j- but he didn't even say my name or mention a girlfriend once. he just hugged and cuddled her.
b- jenna. they are friends. they literally had never met until then. he was excited to be meeting her for the first time
j- maybe you're right. but i'm not ready to see him yet bryce. i'm really not.
b- stay here again tonight. but you need to see him tomorrow.
j- okay fine.
b- promise?
j- i promise!!
b- good. i'm going to get changed now.
j- okay bye bryce!

bryce went upstairs so i went and sat by josh.

j- hey josh.
jo- hey jenna.
j- can i make pancakes?
jo- yeah sure we probably have some stuff in one of the cupboards.
j- helpful
jo- i don't cook okay! i only cook when bryce wants to.
j- i don't even want to know how bryce food tastes.
jo- you really don't.

i went into the kitchen and grabbed anything i thought i might need. i looked in the cupboards and managed to get all the ingredients.

jo- we really had all that in the cupboards?
j- yes. not like you would know! lazy shit!
jo- whatever. can you make me a pancake too?
j- only one?
jo- yes?
j- weirdo! nobody has only one pancake.
jo- well i do!
j- shut the fuck up while i make it then.

i mixed everything together until it was a good consistency. i purposely put a tiny amount of mix in the pan and started to make it. i decided to flip it because it was going to be josh's. the flipping didn't go perfect, which i expected. the pancake completely broke. i wasn't bothered though, because this was josh's pancake. if i'm honest i broke it on purpose anyway. when i put the pancake onto the plate josh look at me with confusion.
