Second chances

Chapter 2

Jessica's pov

I woke up to my little sister, Aliza, drawing on my face. I didn't realize at first but she did it with permeant marker. I took the marker from her hands and threw it at the wall.

she started laughing and ran back to her room. I didn't feel like telling my mom because knowing her she wouldn't even care.

So I immediately went to the bathroom and stripped of my cloths. I turned on the shower and waited for it to get warm.

While it was warming I looked in the mirror at what my sister drew, she drew a sun with sun glasses all over my face. It made me laugh a little.

I jumped right into the shower and started washing my hair.

I had some acne cream and hoped that it would wash some of the marker away. As I washed my face I could see the black ink falling from my face.

I turned off the shower and wrapped a towel around me. luckily the ink was completely gone.

I went back to my room and out on some black leggings with a pink shirt.

I didn't feel like straitening my hair today so I just put it up in a tight high bun. I also put some mascara and skin tone on.

I put my boots on and went downstairs. I grabbed my sweater and left the house without eating breakfast or saying bye to my mother.

I sat in my car and took my keys out of my sweater pocket.

The new high school was only 15 minutes from my house, so that will be a quick drive.

After parking my car, I walked into the school's front desk. They told me where my class was but I wasn't listening. I didn't bother asking again so I just took out my schedule and tried to find my class myself.

After looking for almost 10 minutes I gave up. I sat on the bench and sighed.

Right then a girl sat next to me. "hey you lost" she said.

"Yea a little" I said.

"What class do you have" she asked

"Math, how about you?"

"Same" she said excitedly.

We walked together to class. I walked in and obviously my teacher mr.satan has to introduce me to the whole class. "meet Jessica" he said. everybody looked up and didn't say a word.

right then that's where i saw him. Calum. he was sitting there staring at me. instantly I grabbed the girls hand and pulled her over to the two empty seats.

I felt my face turn bright red. I felt like I was going to be sick. I thought Calum moved to California, but he stayed in Australia. I thought I wouldn't have to see him ever again, wow was I wrong. he's in my new school!

It turns out I was zoning out because the lesson had already started and the girl was poking my arm to get my attention.

" You feeling ok?" She asked "oh and my name is Karina."

"Thanks for showing me where my class was and yea I'm fine thanks for asking."

Math went bye pretty fast. before I knew it was lunch time.

I took my phone out of my pocket and walked over to a bench out side.

I had my headphones in and didn't even notice that calum was standing right in front of me. I took my head phone out and heard Calum's voice for the first time in about a year.

"Hey Jessica, how's it going?" he said

"It's going good" I said.

I felt my face go red and I felt sick again.

"Ahh I got to go."

With out waiting for a response I quickly ran to the bathroom.

I knew I wasn't gonna get sick but I didn't want to be seen at the moment. I needed to think about my morning a little.

I can't believe I had a little conversation with Calum again. I don't understand why I felt so nervous around him. I was over Calum. just then I had a flash back to the night that I saw him making out with that girl. I felt a tear fall from my eye as I went back into reality. I wiped the tear away so fast it was like it was a reflex.

I finally left the bathroom and went back to class. I had science next.
Thankfully Karina was in my science class.

I took my seat down next to her and we started working on a partner project.

After science I had work shop class. was excited for this class. I didn't really know what to expect since I never had this kind of class before.

I walked in and the only seat left was one next to Calum. He Patted the seat as if to tell me to sit there. I took a
Deep breath and walk over to the seat.

I wasn't paying attention and then all of a sudden Calum turns to me and says "Ready?"

"Ready for what?"

"The project!"

I felt so embarrassed, I wasn't paying attention and Calum was my partner and I knew that I looked like a fool with him staring at me while I was clue less of the given task.

"We have to build a bird house together."

He looked annoyed with me and just took the supplies and started working.

I took the long boards of wood and started cutting out the walls.

Calum would take the wood pieces I cut and start making the house.

With nearly ten minutes left of the class, I carefully cut a circle in the middle of the house as the door.

I was relieved when class was over.
I kept cutting the boards at the wrong length and Calum kept rolling his Eyes at me in a harsh way.

I don't understand why he was being so rude. he was acting nice at lunch. why should I care anyways. he was probably just a moody ass today.

I put my bag on my shoulders and started making my way to my car. As I was sitting down Karina came up to my car asking for a ride. obviously I said yea.

After driving Karina home
I decided to stop at the store to get some chips and Iced tea.

I finally got home around 4:00pm. I went to my room bringing the food and placed it on my bed. then I changed into some pajamas and put on Netflix. I put on a movie about a girl and this guy with the same situation that Calum and I had.

The girl was so desperate that when the guy asked her out again she said yea and they ended up getting married. That girl was a stupid ass because the guy had an affair.

After finishing my food I fell asleep.
