The alarm blared through the room.

Kien turned his head and watched the phone vibrate on the nightstand. He had been already awake for an hour so the alarm wasn't really doing anything for him. Dang, on the other hand, grabbed his pillow and put it over his head to drown out the noise.

Kien kept it ringing. He knew Dang would just go back to sleep again if he turned off the alarm. Eventually, Dang sprung up, stormed toward Kien's bed, and turned off the alarm by himself. With sleepy eyes and an angry face, he looked at Kien.

"I hate you," he spat.

Kien just grinned as an answer and stood up himself.

"Did you get any sleep tonight?" Dang asked.

"Yes."

"You getting better," Dang slurred. In his half-asleep state, he grabbed some things and made his way to the bathroom. Kien walked over to his closet.

Dang was right. He was getting better. The meeting with Marc had been a few days ago and Kien had to admit it helped. Since then he slept again. Not for very long but two hours of sleep was better than none. It still caused him a great deal of anxiety that Dang knew he was gay and that his secret was a step closer to being plastered all over the news. But on the advice of Marc, he had spoken with Dang and he had at least stopped telling Kien to tell the others. If he accepted Kien's decision, Kien couldn't say.

Even the worrying eyes of his teammates and staff members had stopped. The day after his and Marc's dinner, their manager Jung Lee had spoken with him. Kien had feared it would be the conversation he had nightmares about. The conversation where he would be told he fucked up and was being dropped. He had been super happy when Jung Lee just wanted to tell him he had to get his shit together and stop exhausting himself. Obviously, Kien promised him to get everything straight again.

And with dinner happening just hours ago, at that moment, he had a good feeling he was now able to do it. Honestly, talking with Marc helped a lot. Kien felt like Marc understood him on some level. He didn't have to put on a mask around Marc. Maybe this was the beginning of a great friendship. A friend outside of the entertainment business was a good thing. At least that's what he heard everywhere.

He should take this chance. As introverted as he was he didn't make friends easily. But the comeback was just around the corner and nothing was more important than his carrier, his dream. That's where his nerves started to run thin again. As much as Marc helped him with the comeback in sight his secret became both smaller and bigger. Smaller because he tried to concentrate on the comeback. Bigger because any rumor that might occur would become a shitstorm in times of a new release. The problem he had with Dang faded into the background in comparison.

Maybe two hours wasn't enough sleep after all. The thoughts influenced Kien's mood a lot and Kien couldn't allow himself any mistake. He had promised to make none.

Kien picked up his phone and checked his schedule for today. Singing practice in the afternoon and dance practice in the morning. At least the day wasn't that packed. Time for breakfast. Even though he wasn't hungry he had to eat before he would have to go to the dance studio with his teammates. So he put some clothes on and went into the kitchen. Kien could already smell something delicious.

Kien put on a smile. Today was a good day. Maybe he would even sleep more than two hours the next night. Maybe.
