Astrid and Hiccup were two special kinds of kids. They had powers and used them in ways no one could ever think of. Avenging children. They do this because when they were little, their parents abandoned them when they found out they had powers. So giving other children the help they didn't get was their main goal.

Hiccup could turn into any dragon in the Viking book of dragons and Astrid had the power of creation, destruction, healing,and changing (like turning a person into a rat).

One regular Thursday night, Hiccup and Astrid were walking down the street, hand in hand, when a little boy rammed into them.

"Can you help me?" The boy said with tears in his eyes. He was limping and had bruises all over.

"Of course" Astrid said with eagerness. Hiccup kneeled down inspecting the kid's leg, while Astrid was inspecting the kids face with sweetness the child seemed to melt in.

"Hey kid , what's your name and who did this to you?" Asked Hiccup

"Gustav and — sniff— a man, h-he lives at the end of t-the block, he h-hit me with his cane, I-I was just trying to sell some c - cookies for m-my school fundraiser" Gustav said trying to form the word while crying.

"Poor kid" said Hiccup looking up at Gustav.

"Here you know what Gustav, I bet that if you close your eyes, all the pain will go away. " said Astrid

"Really" said Gustav while rubbing the tears out his eyes.

"Ya" said Hiccup

"Ok, close your eyes" said Astrid 

"Ok" said Gustav closing his eyes

When Gustav closed his eyes, Astrid gave Hiccup a nod. And at that moment, Astrid held her hand up, closed her eyes, and a glowing blue light shined from her hand. At that moment Gustav's injuries began to disappear.

When Gustav opened his eyes, all the pain was gone and his injuries disappeared. Hiccup stood up and gave Gustav a little rub on the head.

"Wow, you were right. Nothing hurts anymore!" Said Gustav excitedly.

"See I told you" said Astrid

"Thank you for making me feel better" said Gustav

"No problem kid, and you should probably start going home. It's getting late" said Hiccup in a calm voice.

"Ok thanks again" said Gustav as he passed them and ran till he was out of their site.

"Sweet kid" said Astrid

"Ya, I love it when you do that thing with your powers" Hiccup said as he gave Astrid a hug then kissed her cheek. Astrid genuinely hugged back, while he kept nuzzling her face. A purring noise erupted from his throat.

"And it looks like we found our next target, " said Astrid.

"YES, now let's go kick the crap out of the dude that beat the crap out of Gustav, he said the guy was at the end of the block right" said Hiccup as he pulled Astrid along.

"Ok, Ok" said Astrid trying to keep up with his pace.

While Astrid stood at the front door, knocking on the man's door.

When the door opened, an old man came out. He had white hair and a large cane with a metal fist design on it

"Hello Sir" Astrid said In cheerfulness

"What do you want?" The old man asked in a gruff and annoyed voice.

"Oh sir I don't want to bother you I only want to ask if you are the one that hits every child the comes to your house. " said Astrid while Hiccup watched from the rooftop.

"What if I was the one who hit though kids, what are you gonna do about it, nothing, because you are a worthless girl. And I suggest you leave if you don't want to end up like those other children and get hit as well." Said the old man in a mad tone.

"No, I won't leave sir" said Astrid

"Don't say I didn't warn ya" said the old Man as he pulled his cane and began to swing.

Right before the cane hit Astrid, black figure came out of nowhere and grab the cane.

"WHAT! Where did you come from?" Yell the old man

It was Hiccup who had saved his lady. Hiccup looked at the man dead in the eye and broke the wood of his cane with his bare hands.

The old man gasped in shock

"No boy, don't do that," Astrid said with calmness as she pushed Hiccup behind her. Hiccup continued to stare and growl at the old man.

"Sorry about my dragon" apologized Astrid

"Dragon?" questioned the old man, but Astrid kept talking.

"He sometimes gets a little bit too aggressive, but here is a new cane -" said Astrid. The old man was confused at first the girl said dragon, then a cane that looked exactly like his miraculously appeared, but Astrid still continued.

"- but I have to warn you their is price for this cane, you wil- " said Astrid

"JUST GIVE ME THE CANE!!" Yelled the old man.

"OK Ok" said Astrid as she gave the cane to the man and held her hands up in defense. Hiccup  growled harder at the man.

"Now leave" yelled the man, but a blue light began to swirl around the old man. When the old man looked at the two teens, Astrid's eyes were glowing blue and Hiccup had a smirk on his face.

When the blue light disappeared, there was no longer a man, but a little black rat.

"See sir I tried to tell you, anyone who takes that cane will be transformed into a rat for 15 minutes" said Astrid. "You hear that 15 minutes, Hiccup". Hiccup liked hearing the fact that he had 15 min to enjoy his next meal. Hiccup changed his form into a small night fury (about the size of a Cat).

All the people saw was a girl walking out of a house with something sitting on her shoulder.

"Did you enjoy your meal?" asked Astrid

The little dragon on her shoulder rubbed against her cheek and purred.

"All take that as a yes, and thank you for stopping that cane for hitting me" said Astrid

"Ya I stopped it, because nobody messes with my valkyrie" said Hiccup still in his dragon form.

"Your valkyrie" asked Astrid

"Yes" Said Hiccup, "now let's go home before the police catch us"

And for the rest of the night Astrid slept in the old bed , in the old abandoned Hotel, while Hiccup watched over his Valkyrie, promising never to let anything happen to her.
