XI.
Weeks had passed since Eden went over to see Zach and ever since then the two have been hanging out here and there. They bickered more than usual but they kept each other entertained by doing so. Chase enjoyed watching his best friend and his friend getting along and then fight the next minute. Aaliyah, on the other hand, Zach hadn't heard from her in a while whereas Eden and Chase spoke to her on a regular.
The fact that he and Aaliyah wasn't talking really irritated Zach. It was the first time in a while Aaliyah stopped talking to him after he relapsed. Insensitive you may call it or probably giving herself some space from him.
It was hard having to see your best friend that way and Zach understood why she distances herself away from him but it still hurt.
Eden had just dropped him off at his therapy appointment since it was her day off and waited for him until he finished. They stopped by Dunkin Donuts to buy themselves coffee and a dozen of donuts. They had spent the whole day with each other at his house, watching movies and joking with each other.
"Leave me alone, Zach" Eden laughed as Zach continued to chase her through the house. Her squeals and his laughs filled up his big house and although his house could fit an entire community, there wasn't much places Eden could run to or hide. They've been chasing each other around the house like Tom and Jerry ever since they got to his house.
For what reason? Who the fuck knows.
Eden stopped for a brief moment to catch her breath, hovering over one end of the couch while Zach stood on the other end catching his.
"Jesus fucking Christ, Z. You got me running for god knows what. I'm suing if you make me have a fucking asthma attack." Eden huffed. Zach chuckled and moved his body to the right still gripping on the arm of the couch causing Eden to move quickly to the left.
"You can't fucking sue me, Eden. And I highly doubt you're going to have an asthma attack. Don't be so fucking dramatic." Zach said.
"Says you. I could drop dead right here right now cause of you." Eden began to dramatically breath in and out placing her hand on her chest. Zach tossed his head back and let out a laugh.
He never met someone as funny as Eden which surprised him a lot when he found himself laughing almost all the time whenever they would hang out. It was never a dull moment with her and he enjoyed it. It scared him but he loved it. There was something about her that he just couldn't wrap his finger around it. He didn't know whether it was the fact that she was different than the girls he's been out with or how long it's been since he's actually been with a girl that wasn't Aaliyah.
His eyes never left her face which made Eden begin to blush. He grinned at her and swiftly moved to the left, catching Eden off guard. Eden quickly moved to the other side of the couch , replacing Zach and vice versa. She groaned as she jumped up and down, wanting the chase to be over.
"Alright, remind me why you started to chase me?"
"Eden you literary said first one inside the house is a rotten egg and then pushed me on the grass when I was winning."
Eden squinted her eyes, "you were in my way."
"That's the point of a race, Eden. The first one to get there wins and I was winning until your competitive ass pushed me."
"You shouldn't had been in my way. I was going to win regardless."
"Sure you was"
"Alright so you won. Do you have to keep chasing me?"
