The Mercenary and Queen bee~[Cloud Strife x Queen bee!Male!reader]

Nightmares?

M/n tosses and turns in his sleep until he jolts awake with a shout. Heavy breathing was all that could be heard in the room. Soon as he realized it was a dream, he flopped back onto his back and sighed.
"Four in the morning... Dammit, this the third time this week. That bastard can't hurt me anymore because he's dead, yet I can't get rid of that night.."M/n mumbles while looking at his smartphone to distract and calm himself.

That's when he accidentally pressed on Cloud's phone number while trying to call Sephiroth. M/n tried to hang up but sur-fucking-prise Cloud answer on the second ring.
"M/n? Why are you up?"

"Uhh, you know-"

"Don't you dare fucking lie to me."

"Ugh! Okay mister bossy pants, I had a nightmare... I didn't mean to call you."M/n was never one to be bossed around but he allowed Cloud to get away with it. It was silent on the other end for a second before Cloud spoke again.
"I'll be on the phone until you fall asleep if that's what you want?"

"You'd do that for me?"

"Well, yeah you're... You're my friend."This made M/n smile, so he laid down on his side with the phone next to his face having no clue that Cloud hesitated for a reason. The blonde mercenary had to stop what was going to fly out of his mouth originally. He nearly slapped himself for not saying what he really wanted to.
"So, did I wake you up?"

"Huh, no, no you didn't. Sometimes I just catch myself up around this time, it's like my brain switches back to soldier mood every now and again... What was the nightmare about?"

"I'm sure you can take a guess."M/n said trying to avoid speaking of it just for the moment. Cloud immediately knew while also getting the hint that M/n didn't want to talk about it yet.
"Hm, we never seem to talk about you, M/n."

"Huh?"

"You know so much about me, yet you rarely reveal anything about yourself. Why's that?"M/n rolled into his back and sighed softly. M/n wasn't the one to disclose things about himself to others because of his line of work and due to the walls, he built around his heart.
"I...."

"You what?"

"I don't want to be hurt emotionally, that's all. I feel if I truly let others in, they just leave me when I get too comfortable. So I give a little of myself. Sorry that I can't be more open with you. This is new to me, there's still much that Sephiroth doesn't know about me and I've known him for eight years."M/n said turning back on his side to look at the caller ID;

M/n couldn't help but smile at the name he had as Clouds contact. He soon grew curious as to what he was in the others phone.
"Hey Cloud?"

"Hm?"

"What's my contact name in your phone?"Cloud nearly choked on his drink when M/n suddenly asked that question. Now it wasn't an embarrassing question...But it was to Cloud, no one has a special name except for M/n.
"Uh... it's Queen bee."

"No way! I don't believe you, you have to send me a screenshot!"Though he was still sleepy that gave him just a bit of energy.
"Hold on....I- I sent it." M/n's phone pings and he swipes down the text to see the image.

"Aww you're so cute Cloud- wait... That star! I'm your favorite contact!? You are just too*Yawn* cute!"Cloud blushed and was happy that M/n couldn't see it.
"Next time I should Video call you~"

"I'll think about that. I prefer to be face to face with you than over the phone. Anyway, you should be getting to sleep."

"Yeah, but talking to you is fun...Hmm, can you sing?"

"A bit, why?"M/n excitedly asked for the male to sing for a bit to help him sleep.
"Isn't this such a beautiful night,
Whoa-"M/n smiles softly, not expecting Cloud to have such a soft singing voice.
"We're underneath a thousand shining stars.
Isn't it nice to find yourself somewhere different-"Cloud blushed with each word he allowed to pass his lips and on the other side, M/n closed his eyes, feeling his body asking for sleep once again.
"Whoa, why don't you let yourself just be wherever you are.
Look at this place, look at your faces.
I've never seen you look like this before- Ah! M/n are you there?"

"..." Cloud lifts his phone closer to his ear, all he could hear was the soft breathing of his friends. Cloud didn't hang up and left the phone the way it was just in case M/n woke up from another nightmare.
"When did it get this deep?"
